Hm, it’s almost as if omitting features people have come to expect on cars can adversely impact the utility of a car without them.
I know the Tesla’s interior and lack of physical buttons, vents and switches has turned me off. Especially in the model 3 and Y.

Thankfully, Rivian has instrumentation in front of the steering wheel. That is a deal-breaking omission on the 3 & Y for me. Other folks don’t care so it just goes to show that we all have our own priorities.

You don't say. I guess that's why I wrote "Homekit" and not "Homelink."
Yeah, but you did so while quoting a comment about Homelink. I was trying to help avoid confusion. No need to be an asshole.

Sorry, I made a pretty clear statement that you felt a need to double-check and I'm suddenly at fault?

Chatted will a CS rep today and asked if XM radio would be included. They confirmed to me that XM will not be a part of the entertainment system but an app could be used with Bluetooth. Rather disappointing.
as long as I can stream audio from SOMA FM, I don’t care about SiriusFM

I think I pointed out the potential for confusion in my previous comment. I can tell that this conversation will just continue to devolve, so I am disengaging. You were right, I was wrong. Good job.

I still see the sirius satellite "shark fin" on my configuration image. I'm staying positive on it being there. Cell phone service/app reception sucks when you are in the middle of nowhere (where this truck is intended to be...)

The shark fin antenna is not exclusive to satellite radio. For Rivian, its primary applications are most likely telemetry (over cellular) and gps.

I didn’t realize it was even still relevant. I won’t miss it.

I couldn’t care less, if you don’t use XM yet you probably never will, stagnant subscriber numbers for satellite radio for 3-4 years

Not a big deal for me, but sat radio might be the only option in some adventure areas.

I'm content with a solid downloaded library on my phone, but I've been on 3 trips just this summer where I had no cell connectivity...

If I recall correctly, AM radios are left out if BEV because of interference from the EV. Basically you get shit for reception. For example, It's not in my T8 Xc60, but I'm pretty sure it's in standard xc60.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if there is not Sirius, mostly so they don't send me letters to sign up. But enough people obviously use it. Seems like a weird choice to neglect it.

My only $.02 is joy knowing that I'll never have to have a run-in with XM Customer Support ever again. When I bought my 2011 Leaf in 2019 it had that as an option. So I activated for a few months as a trial. Then cancelled it once I heard the dial-up compression audio quality.

They then continued to charge me monthly. Shame on me for not checking, I raged at all level of Customer Service. They claimed it was cancelled. Back and forth. Took three months to get it officially cancelled and no funds were ever compensated. :mad:
