Cohall,

Thank you! That means a lot to me, especially coming from you!

The event was truly amazing, but the big highlight was meeting and getting to know the entire team and the other fortunate Riviots. I'm sure many people here will disagree with me, but knowing I'll get a full tutorial on all of the User Interface and other details when I take possession of my R1T freed me from spending much time doing that. I doubt I'll ever get the opportunity to spend the kind of dedicated time together with the entire Rivian team the way we did for two days.

What was really enjoyable was getting a tour around the track and up and over the obstacles and drifting through the sand and rocks with RJ at the wheel while I was riding shotgun. He had complete confidence racing around the testing grounds at enjoyably high speeds with a combination of laughs and screams coming from the back seat while RJ is simultaneously pointing out features while also explaining the reasoning behind them.

My attention with the R1T was focused on having the testing grounds available for my test-drive. What an incredible vehicle! A silent, all-wheel drive sports car with 15-inches of ground clearance and amazing All-Terrain tires. It tackled the boulder field that makes up the South Face of Mt. Rivian, while easily rolling down the 45% North face of packed gravel and dirt. Get to the bottom, RJ whips a u-turn and we do it all again from the other direction. Unbelievable!

More to follow....
Any glimpses of Limestone? So curious!

Later OTA release confirmed. Not available out of the chute.
Makes sense to me. It’s not something that I would need to show off immediately with anyways

Congrats! I’m really happy that you got to experience that! Looking forward to see what you have to say, and thanks for sharing! We appreciate it. Also, Launch Green looks amazing!!!
Canthoney,

Thank you so much! I'm still on a high and it's been a week plus since we disbanded. I refuse to say it's over....

Kyle,

To answer your question, I'm the one on left. I think you know the other guy by now. And this, folks, is what Launch Green looks like. If you look carefully, you'll also see the Rivian Grin stuck on my face, just as it was on all of the small, but very fortunate group in attendance. My face is hurting now as that grin us still there.

To a person, we all felt extremely fortunate to have been selected. To say it was life-altering to be a part of it is not an exaggeration for me, and I'm not even talking yet about the R1Ts we were allowed to sprint, drift, climb, rock-crawl, and fly through fields of tall grass in.

I'll be adding more later today, as I'm still trying to get down from Cloud Nine after last week. I'll just let you know these vehicles are just as awesome as the team that is currently building them.

I think many of you know I'm pretty upbeat and optimistic. I went into this event with unrealistically high expectations, and somehow, RJ and the entire Rivian family managed to blow my expectations out of the water.

How's that for a teaser....Oh yeah, along with 130 MPH....

More to follow.....
Didn't I see you hanging out in front of Safeway just the other day?

Glad you had fun, but your writing smells of paid marketing person for Rivian. The choice of adjectives, etc. I am probably wrong, but smells very paid marketing writing.
I've never seen him hold back on any of his posts. Not sure why you bother joining a forum if after 4 days you automatically start dissing what someone is telling you.

At least spend a couple of weeks reading some of their posting history to get a feel for who the person is.

Or it could be genuine enthusiasm? I would probably be just as excited as DuckTruck, and I’m sure most on here would be. I don’t understand the negativity, we are finally getting answers and DuckTruck and others are sharing what they have experienced even though there is no expectation they have to at all. Stop being salty

Your writing smells of jealousy, bitterness, and a hint of regret...Can a grown-ass-man not be excited that RIvian chose him along w/ 9 others to partake in a once-in-a-lifetime event?

IF I was invited to that thing...I would come back on here using words like, "Adventurous Forever and Soon".
I would probably have a Rivian tramp stamp put on me after that event ?

You should probably go back and look at his post history, and you'll realize you're just being an ass.

@DuckTruck I have to pile on what everyone else has said. You seem like a great guy and more than deserving. I always appreciate your levity and thoughtful posts. Can't wait to hear more about your time with Rivian. Rivian is a family affair for us. We are all excited. Thanks again.

Duck,
Appreciate all the feed back you are providing, congrats on being one of the chosen I'm sure it was a grand time.

Just a couple of questions if you have any additional information that can or are willing to share.

1) What was your impression of the fit and finish, I know from some of your earlier post you have had some higher end cars in your driveway for a solid comparison.

2) How was the material quality? Do they hit the high end market?

3) Any chance they shared anything about EPA range or watts per mile? Did you see any of this while you were driving it

4) What were a couple of things that surprised you (good or bad) based on what you have heard or expected.

As a few have said, you are a perfect person from the forum, especially with your ability to provide such colorful and verbose late night posts that entertain many of us.
5) What did they cook with the camp kitchens on those two days?
