High Motor temps after just a few miles?

Got some of the highest temps on the motors I've ever seen. Just a few miles of driving to pickup some takeout, I'm driving back and the motors are all into the 200's. It's 28f out. When I parked, the temps quickly dropped 60+ degrees.

Is this normal?

Yes. Dozens of threads on this. The motor heat is being used to warm your battery.

Were you preconditioning the battery to charge maybe?
Here in Huntsville my battery was 25 degrees. I was going to charge when I got home so I choose a close charger close to my house to precondition the battery and i had not gone a couple miles and I had 200ish on the motors temp out side was 33. As soon as I passed the charging station the temp on the motors dropped back to under 100.

You're right. Next time I see something new I won't try to learn anything, stay blissfully ignorant, and just wait until something breaks to ask for help.

Turned the temps on a few mins before heading into the garage, but otherwise no.

Thank you for the prompt reply. I'll search better next time. Hasn't been this cold since I got her, so winter ops is new for me.

Haha, it’s ok, we’re just having a bit of fun. The update when they gave us the motor temps, it was like the Wild West in here. ?
