So I read a lot from people who have had their delivery cancelled/rescheduled at the final hour and I thought I could minimize the possibility of that happening to me. Long story short, after being told last week that I needed to have everything signed/uploaded/approved two business days prior to pick up, I was feeling good headed into the final days of my delivery date. I double checked last week with my guide that everything from my end was good to go and that the car was physically at the service center.
Fast forward to today, got a call 2 hours before my pickup. "Sorry we can't sell you the car, because the VIN plates don't match the wheel swap on the car. There's only 2 printers across the country and it will take time (5 days) to get there." At this point I don't believe him so I asked him if my car was actually there. He swears that the car is at the service center, the wheels were swapped and that they are just waiting for the vin plate because of a screw up. Do the vin plates have to change based on the wheel size or is this guy blowing smoke? I also have to scramble and find a ppf/tint place that can accommodate the new delivery day along with the other items I had lined up. What are the odds the vehicle gets damaged waiting an extra week sitting in that parking lot?
So moral of the story is: delivery delays, it could happen to you too.
