Delivery canceled 4 hours before pickup what a joke

Happened to me as well due to delays with their 3rd party transporter. The experience was frustrating because I couldn’t get an ETA for a while and disappointing because I was excited and impatient! That being said, communication from my guide was as good as it could have been and I empathized with the fact that it was out of their control. At the end of the day, delivery was pushed back about 8 days. They were apologetic and even upgraded us to 22” sport bright tires for free. (I asked for the config change but the free part was unexpected!) They did way more than what I would expect from an automaker at just the apology alone.

At times in business, like the restaurant business, people do not show up to work. Human errors, too often stupid ones too. A 2 yr. wait and then that, bad deal. Just think at least they don't deny even having your order! And they told you before you showed up to get it because your email was spelt wrong.

Actually, no, I bought used, zero troubles. I have just been "experienced" as Jimi Hendrix asked. "Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful". The song "Third Stone from the sun" keeps me with a better perspective...

They cancelled my pickup for today yesterday, now scheduled for tomorrow (easter sunday). They said its due to delays with the transporter. So i doubt i will actually pickup tomorrow.

I was self employed most all of my 48 years of being a professional. I worked most holidays, including weekends and after hours. I succeeded, therefore I can afford a Rivian. The buck stopped at me, I delivered, I see Rivian working to that end too.

It is what it is, im just excited to get one. I didnt think I would get one till next year so… But if they cancel on me tomorrow they said they would cover the home delivery fee and bring it to me. I am very happy so far with the process, I like that I was able to do all the documents online and mot have to deal with a franchised car delearship, always hated dealing with car salesman.

What we really want to know is why was it canceled? Did you not have your insurance in place your payment in place You're accounting in place? Explain why.

I was also scheduled to pick up at San Diego SC on Friday and was cancelled on the day before. My vehicle hadn't arrived yet. I asked for an update on friday and it still hadn't arrived at SC.

My new pickup is tomorrow (last day in the quarter) so let's see... Am expecting the worst.

So sorry this happened. I think you were scheduled to pick it up in San Diego? I picked my R1T from there 2 days ago as scheduled. No cancellations luckily. They were definitely busy when I was there - it appeared to be
ab50/50 repairs vs. new deliveries.

pick up went smoothly, they met me right on time and spent about 45 minutes there. One minor issue with the spare tire well not being cleaned was quickly remedied.

I will say I micromanaged this entire process from day 1 and had an issue the day before scheduled delivery with my down payment being dropped from the docs but was able to get it resolved.

It’s definitely worth the wait. It drives so nice. A few unexpected benefits so far: the turn radius is much better than I thought. The ride is definitely smoother than I thought. The only issue so far was with the navigation- I drove out to Borrego Springs yesterday and the nav lost signal on the way back and I ended up about 7 miles out of the way before I realized it. One interesting tidbit- going down the backside of the mountain towards the desert I gained 7 miles of range in about 15 minutes due to regen.

Overall not quite the level of transaction /delivery experience as my Tesla was back in 2019 but not bad for such a young company.
