The only trouble with the card is the valet not knowing what to do with it. Otherwise, works just fine. If yours doesn't work as designed, you should submit a ticket.

My card usually works OK as a backup to a backup. Nearest service is 3 hrs away..not worth a ticket. How did we all use fobs for years? Haha

We used fobs for years because it was the only other and more convenient option besides physical keys. There are now options more convenient than both. Progress. Time marches on and all that.

There is no instruction on there to tell them to flip it over ?
Careful, now comes the complaint threads saying Rivian should add a voice chip that says "turn me over for instructions" and the argument over how much that will cost Rivian.

They weren’t as clunky before. My other cars, I was always able to just press the buttons while still in my pocket. For this I always have to take it out to look at the buttons.

A first-world problem indeed.

Well, I’m fine with the fob, especially since it’s a backup. I have no issues taking it to restaurants with valet parking. Now, I am officially bored with this thread. BTW, the original post was about the nicely improved readability of the new fobs.
