How I Know Cybertruck Pre-Orders have TANKED on Sales

They're promising FSD, but doesn't it still not have any Highway assisted driving currently? or something like that at least. And charging with superchargers is limited maybe? I forget all the issues the CTs have right now.

As of April 18th (day of recall) they had delivered approx 4k CTs. Let’s assume that’s tripled, for sake of argument. That would be 12k on the road, which is … a hell of a lot less than 760k.

That’s wild. I think everyone expected drop off in conversion from res to purchase, but a 98% drop is nuts.

Well, I do laugh. But keep in mind the Founder's Edition is something like an additional $20-30,000. Some share of the 750,000 who passed up this offer are waiting to buy the cheaper version once they run through the thrill-seekers and star-fuckers. I'm guessing that number will be well into the middle or upper 5-digits.

That will still be a failure, but not on the order it looks like if you think they're already churned through three quarters of a million reservations just to sell 12,000 trucks at a real market price for trucks.

No one is buying the founders series so you’ll like get a shot at buying the overpriced. I think the non-founders series is what most people are waiting on. No sense in paying a $30K early adopter tax.

That model is $100k. Plenty of people will buy the $60k model when it’s available. They are milking the early adopters right now.

RichRebuilds on YouTube had a guy who deals in used Tesla’s who said he expects Cybertrucks to be inventory vehicles next year. I’m interested to see how all of this plays out, I honestly have no clue.

The reservations for the Cybertruck are still selling on eBay, but at a lower price of $200–$400 for a July–September delivery.

Good thing I sold mine earlier in the year.

Jan 2023....I was wrong on estimate of 750,000.....I just rechecked my estimated place in line using my RN #
