Karen wants to speak with Rivian's supervisor

I think it was even earlier, the guy who came out to do my test drive in December 2021 didn't come right out stating that data wouldn't always be free, but he certainly hinted about future subscriptions related to streaming. Either way, there's been a lot of discussion on this.As discussed many times, if you didn't know it's your fault for not reading about your purchase. All of the information was available and published as far back as March 2022...
Having the information available to you means it was part of the process. They didn't hide it, they didn't add it after you bought your truck. It was there for years, since their IPO filing they had this plan. Did Rivian also tell you that you needed to supply your own electricity or were you to know that for yourself? I see little difference.Yes it was. LOL Just because a statement exists on a website doesn't mean it wasn't also left out of the process. They sure used Spotify as a nice value add during the purchasing process and never once mentioned it was going away (The internet connection, not Spotify).
It was in their IPO filing, so before they even went public this was their plan.I think it was even earlier, the guy who came out to do my test drive in December 2021 didn't come right out stating that data wouldn't always be free, but he certainly hinted about future subscriptions related to streaming. I'm not sure you meant to quote me on that one.WTF are you talking about? 'Misinformation'? I created a reply stating how it rubbed me the wrong way? What misinformation am I spreading?
It's not about the data, at least not for me. I just want the native Spotify and Alexa apps to work, I will bring my own connectivity. What's the "right way"? There have been multiple emails, website posts, and public comments from Rivian going back to before deliveries even started, that addressed the fact that the data plan would not be free forever. That's not including the countless number of threads here and on many social media platforms covering this topic.
Is it ideal? No, maybe not, but AT&T doesn't give their data services away for free, and if you don't want to pay, you can use a phone hotspot.
Cool. They do...It's not about the data, at least not for me. I just want the native Spotify and Alexa apps to work, I will bring my own connectivity.
Thanks bud lolThey never promised you free internet forever. And you still have access to those apps.
Thanks bud lol
You obviously didn’t read anything then. It’s been communicated since the beginning that internet was only free for a limited time. Not Rivians fault that you did no research into your purchase. The native Spotify App, Alexa and Google Satellite map were available when I purchased in April. Connect+ was announced in June. I dont recall any mention of any functionality being "limited time only" when I bought it. Very rent-a-center vibes...
If you bring your own connectivity, they do work. There have been several threads about how it works with a phone hotspot. It's not about the data, at least not for me. I just want the native Spotify and Alexa apps to work, I will bring my own connectivity.

I actually do own an R1S, and I actually used to love it.@zachstodd your entire contribution to this forum has been focused on 2 sensationalist threads over the past 2 weeks. Do you actually own a Rivian or are you just browsing?
Right, right, of course. May I suggest some alcohol to get over your disappointment?I actually do own an R1S, and I actually used to love it.
I joined the forum just yesterday and it was mostly to get a sense of where everyone was as it relates to the Connect+ features.
Maybe, hopefully, I will get to peruse other topics when I get over my disappointment and stop getting lambasted...
I'm confused what is your complaint about then - if it's not about price or paying for data? They followed through on what they've been communicating for years. Sounds like you just want to whine.Nope, it has nothing to do with the price or having to pay for data. Are all complaints petty, or just the ones you disagree with?
