It hurts so much to read this thread! I'm test driving an R1S on Thursday and if I like love it, AND if you were a little closer to Alabama (shipping would be expensive - I checked!

I thought about it! Honestly, that sounds like a dream road trip! Pick up a new (to me) Rivian and cross the country!
If only I had the vacation time and if it was not the winter, as it would be through parts of the country that I really don't want to try to traverse this time of year!
But it would be quite an adventure!
Edit: ABRP Route! - I'm not sure what Tesla Supercharger costs are like, but if I camped in the R1S, I don't think it would be all that expensive to drive it to Huntsville (compared to shipping it), and I would get to see some really beautiful parts o the country!
Edit2: ABRP gives an estimate of about $200. WAY cheaper than the ~$4500 estimate (for enclosed shipping) I got from Preowned Auto Logistics!

So, in continued fun my Porsche dealership screwed up. I haven't leased before and apparently they won't/can't? apply the sales tax credit to a lease. But they had told me previously it would be applied, only now, less than 24 hrs from pickup, do they say oops. Trade in is a no-go.
The car has to go privately. It's 78. The car is perfect. Stored inside, never launched, never even driven in Sport mode. It's been babied as I always intended to sell it.

What a drag, @Gratedwasabi ! I've run into several salespeople at dealerships who don't fully understand leases, so I guess this doesn't shock me. But how unfortunate that it comes at this late date. So sorry!
