Just FYI if you are using our floor organizer - it does not interfere (I make our products compatible with each other). Here is a photo (this is a 26oz YETI):

Does the drawer open with that organizer?

Any chance you can make bets that go on each side of the floor storage - that would be great.

Nope, the drawer is blocked with our floor organizer. As for bets that go on each side - what do you mean by bets?

Thanks.

Wow are you in Hawaii or Puerto Rico? Notice that we absorb the cost of shipping for orders over $75. What you see as shipping cost is what we pay to get this shipped, but $17 sounds insane for mainland. It's usually around $12 for items like this.

Edit: just noticed your profile says North Carolina... not sure why it's so expensive to ship this there all of the sudden. Do you guys have some natural disasters going on? Carriers sometimes pump up the prices when that happens, not sure why.
No disasters here - Fed Ex, UPS, and USPS deliver on our street daily.

Wow no idea why they charge so much then... East Coast is generally expensive for us to ship (as we're in California) but this seems a bit excessive indeed.

Auto correct strikes again. Nets. If it had a netting on each side it would be better to throw stuff in there and it would not have a chance to fall out.

Ahhh, nets! Never thought of that to be honest. Will add it on my todo to investigate feasibility for us to do this.

Any thoughts on having a door for the storage hinged at the bottom of the tray? Like how the tailgate opens on most trucks.

It would look less cluttered and can keep things like the registration and insurance card paperwork, in addition to sunglasses.

Ah that won’t work indeed :( I will update the listing tonight to mention it. Any idea when did Rivian stop putting that port there?(which year build)
Shoot - I have the 12v port so I will need to cancel my order until a solution is found. @twraps Please let me know best way to cancel my order (for now).

Ha, that was my initial design, kid you not! Then after using it for a while I figured - "Nah, all I do is keep my sunglasses here so this just adds one more step" and ditched the door. I might offer versions down the road, let me just get past this initial release where most of the small issues that people will report get fixed. So far I only know of the 12V port (I knew early Rivians had it but I totally forgot until today), but once people start using it, other things may come up that will require modifications.

This sounds like it would work for me! Is the tray angled toward the front? Does it have some grip to the inside surface? I think felt might be a good idea but I would probably put my phone, wallet there - I’ve always wanted a place to put it that’s not on the charging pad and/or away from direct sun while driving. The door idea someone suggested is also nice, has my upvote !

It's not slanted/tilted, it's pretty much flat (the bottom surface where you put things) but it does have silicone like liner that has high surface energy (i.e. friction) so things don't slide around on their own. I tried the faux leather we use for all other trays but I was getting too many rattles & sliding hence the silicone insert (with adhesive so the pad doesn't slide around either).
I tried a slanted version too but it was limiting my access to the floor organizer below as slanting means that I should push the bottom down(er) towards the back. I didn't like it in my own testing. The alternative I also tried was to make it smaller in the front and deeper in the back, but then the sunglasses wouldn't fit nicely which restricted the usability of it, hence the current design.
There is also a continuous lip on the front and sides to keep things from falling off. It's definitely a great place for a wallet as long as you don't forget it in there (as it will be visible). I personally just have my and my wife's sunglasses - 3 pairs, as my wife for some reason insists on having 2 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

I am not sure if it will work, but if anyone is in East Bay (California) and has that port and willing to come by, we can test and find out how it fits. If it fits, you get the tray for free. I can also modify the design if almost fits and requires small changes.
I am from the Bay Area but live in SoCal now. Trying to make a trip up there to visit my father in Martinez next month. If you don't find anyone else by then I can try to bring by my R1T with a 12v port.

That would be most appreciated! Speaking of SoCal I am going to LA this Wednesday, will be in the Manhattan beach area. If you happen to be there, let me know I can perhaps just swing by.
If not - I live in Pleasant Hill, so Martinez is super close.

I hear you... once we have a "safety profile" as I call it, I will likely be able to reduce it a little, but it won't be $20, probably $35. By safety profile I mean seeing all the issues that will show up once people start using it, and I need to modify and resend etc. For perspective, we make our products in our Concord, CA facility and for plastics like this we 3D print. Electricity alone at California's commercial rates ($0.46/kWh) costs us about $5 to create one of these and this is if the print doesn't fail (and sometimes they do). Then there is the filament, box, labor, silicone insert. Those are only our direct costs. Plenty of non-direct ones like printers maintenance (we spend about $1k per week on that alone), lease etc etc... so just giving you a perspective so you don't think we're greedy...we're not, we're just not economically as efficient as a factory in China for example doing injection molding at a scale I can't even imagine, while being subsidized by their government for doing that. I hope that makes sense :)

Edit: put simply - manufacturing car accessories in California (Bay Area of all places in California 😂) is a wild idea, economically speaking. Don't ask me why I do it 😂
Do some people think you're running a charity? Don't worry, I would "hope" most of us would understand the costs of running a business!

2025 Rivian R1T - Large. Delivered on November 23, 2024.

I have something similar (knock-off, center console drawer). It came with really, really crappy adhesive strips that held it in place for all of about an hour. My solution was to get a pack of EzPass RFID Velcro strips. I attached three sets to the back of the drawer unit, and it has been stuck in place ever since; no rattling, no bouncing.

I ordered mine from Amazon shortly after taking delivery, but true to Amazon form, the vendor is no longer on that platform.
