First Aid Kit - upgrade to kit contents required

Unfortunately I had to assist an older man who had stepped off a narrow curb and cut his face open a bit. Very happy to pull out my Rivian first aid kit… pulled out some wound dressing to stem bleeding until medics arrived.

noticed some pretty big gaps in the kit. Included is a ton of wraps for some reason, some gauze, some bandaids, some scissors… and a few other items…. But found it very wanting…. A good exercise to review a first aid kit and augment / refresh regularly….

Attached is a visual on what I supplemented kit with. Should be better prepared next time….

Yah the standard kit is basic. The field kit is probably not worth the cost. The shovel that is included is a joke (plant potting shovel). And the tourniquet is... I guess it could work in a pinch. Lots of affordable and superior options available elsewhere.

You joke, but I have some of that in my "bug out bag" in the gear tunnel.

That said, @COdogman makes a good point about fumbling for it in an emergency. Should probably keep that in the center console, too. Or mount a roll on the dash.

The resident 3D printing experts could probably come up with a TP holder.

If you have medications in there, keep in mind not to administer them to someone if you are not a medical professional as some people are allergic to some medications. That doesn't mean you can't lay out your first aid kit and the patient administer it themselves.
