Exploring Shafer Trail in Moab, Utah (Video)

Happy Sunday everyone!

Sharing Part 2 of our trip to Moab, Utah. This video we explore one of Moab’s icons, the Shafer Trail inside of Canyonlands National Park. This is an easy trail to do and On X rates it at a 1/10 difficulty. You won’t find any crazy rock crawling here but some of the best views you can take in while in Moab. The trail is excellent if you’re getting into the off-roading world and want to get your Rivian in the dirt.

We traverse down the Shafer Switchbacks which as the name eludes to are a set of switchbacks that have been built into the mountain which was once used for cattle and hauling uranium. If your scared of heights this trail can make you feel a certain way but if you can overcome your fears I promise you it’s a sight to see.

Once we got through the switchbacks we saw maybe 1-2 vehicles after that. Really thins out.

We did the whole thing. Started at the Potash ponds and went up the switchbacks at the end of the drive.

Thank you much appreciated. Unfortunatly for him he was forced into off-roading but I think he’s come to enjoy it. We’ve done some trails and I’ll look back and he’s fallen asleep. Always makes me laugh because I’ll think for sure it will wake him.
