Hi all. Brand new 2026 R1S AWD owner here, but not new to electric vehicles (owners of a Tesla Model S since 2017, which we traded in). I have a question about the tires the car comes with.

They don't have great reviews for heavy electric cars. If you kept the tires the car came with, how have they fared, especially in Minnesota winters?

I've had the stock 22s for 2 winters here and they're ok at best. I've gotten decent life out of them, but of course I'll be going with something else when they're worn. Welcome!

No issues. Over 30,000 miles per set. Winter traction was fine in the twin cities.

I had the AT wheels. They performed well in winter, but still not a real winter tire of course. They got too loud for my family after about 13-15k miles and swapped to Michelin Defenders.

I had the original 21st Eco wheels. They have worn a little faster than I expected, but traction was just fine in both winter and summer. I’ve gone ahead and switched to Michelin Defenders as well.
