Hello, I was wondering how you like the ruff rax set up? I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a rack. I would love some real feed back for the rack... I was giving some thought to a Land Rover 110 roof rack with some mods, It is actually a very good fit, it tapers back and fits the truck very well. Would need some wisetec roof adaptors to make it work. But new leaning towards the ruff set up... Thanks in advance,

The rack is really great, super solid, fits perfectly and I love it. The tapered width at the rear is not the only thing that makes this rack the best, it is also the gap along the side of the roof since the roof slopes down at the rear as well.
Make sure to get the noise strip for the front. Sam at Overland Ruff Rax is a great guy and really cares about his product. I assembled in place on the roof by starting with the rear sides first, then the front sides, front center and then the rest of the slats one by one. Make sure to put some blue locktite on all the bolts that do not have nylock nuts. I put a large beach towel under the front and the slats as I was working on each so I would not scratch anything. Overland Ruff Rax youtube has an assembly video that helps a lot with the whole process.

I’m in the same boat.. was originally looking at the Front Runner slim line, but considering it’s not truly purpose built for the R1S, not so sure any more for what they are asking for it. So, looking to buy the ORR, but little info on it anywhere online (including their site). I’m assuming it has t-slots on the rails.. is it compatible with Frontrunner accessories? Have you found any limitations there? Thanks in advance!

It is not the same size as frontrunner it is 1030 and uses 1/4-20 hardware for 10 series tslot channel. Sam at Overland Ruff Rax supplies a few extra bolts but you will need to buy some 1/4-20 mounting bolts from t-nutz or 8020 or amazon. You can use drop in or slide in style nuts or drop in studs. If you use bolts and nuts try not to bottom the bolts in the slots by choosing the right length bolt to work with the gear you are mounting. Sam has some nice stainless slide in studs he had made for assembly maybe you can sweet talk him into providing some extras. I have mounted 23zero awning and shower enclosure, waterport weekender, maxtrax on rivian mounts and some rhino rack accessories. You just need to get the right length bolts or studs and nuts. If you use studs you can use nylock nuts. If you use bolts and slide in or drop in nuts use flat washers with lock washers and blue loctite. I would use as many bolts as whatever bracket you are attaching allows since the 1/4-20 is kind of small. Some people use 1/4-20 carriage bolts as studs but I have not tried them out. Watch the videos I linked above to get a better idea of how it all works. Pic below is how I mount my 23zero 180r on the rear of the rack.

I also use these stainless 1/4-20 roll in nuts with spring ball https://www.tnutz.com/product/db-015-ss/ secured with loctite for other brackets since slide in nuts have to be installed before you bolt the channel into place or you can unbolt the channel on one side and slide more nuts or slide in studs into it.
