I concur...early Gen 1s have/had many issues, but still one of the best driving vehicles for its size. The R2 I test drove had the glove boxes operate but seemed like alignment was off as one rubbed against the other upon closing/opening. The cup holder was finicky and took finesse to keep it...
The San Antonio SC only had 1 HMG R2 other than the 2 used for test drives and it had "matched" written on the windshield. Think most of the vehicles are still "in transit".
It will be a lot easier to repair. It was designed that way, and per a mobile service tech they were asked for grievances on how to make repairs easier, etc, during the development process. So here's hoping that's all true.
As someone who has had a blowout away from city convenience and has used a spare and didn’t have to wait 3 hours for AAA or whatever roadside service on the side of a highway, I am purchasing this.
In 3 years there will hopefully be 150-200k R2s on the road so there should definitely be alternatives. The 21s were so silent on my drive, its what I picked too.
There is a driver only button for the AC. Sounds like it was on that setting for you. Also, I drove it in Sport mode and felt no hesitation in the accelerator.
