Mine was ~$1700 and at a service center as well. O/N visit for glue to dry.
Preferred glass company my ins wanted to use couldn’t get the glass since only rivian makes it
Had to replace mine and did it at Rivian
Only glass out there at the time was Rivian OEM
None of the glass places could get it
So go with Rivian
Took 2 days- they want the adhesive to dry before any rattling
So I’ve been curious about this topic.
Just replaced my 22 pirellis with the same oems. I hit 25 k miles, so pretty happy
Was holding out for the Michelins but decided against; the new defenders are a firmer rubber so I expect you’ll trade some handling/road noise for the added longevity
I had xpel put clear tint on my R1T’s roof
Cost $300 and worth every penny.
Capon is cooler and better for my bald head
Do your windshields while you’re at it ($2-250)
Windows were thrown on as part of a full wrap.
But “clear” heat rejecting film for my windshield and roof were $200 & $300 respectively. I’m in S. Texas and highly recommend both
Great news; anyone have thoughts on the ride yet?
the Michelins have higher tread wear ratings which theoretically should make them ride/handle a bit rougher
1st, make sure you have glass coverage on your policy.
if smaller than a quarter, then get it fixed asap.
I had a chip that spread to a huge crack within 30 min and had to get a windshield replacement.
farmers insurance first sent me (by phone) to their approved glass vendor- who couldn’t get...
I own 2 different properties, 1 hardwired 60 amp with a Rivian charger, the other via a Nema plug also on a 60 amp circuit
i get 22-23 mph on the hardwire
16 on the plug in
always regret not hardwiring my other charger; every now and again I’m in a hurry.
Didn’t read the whole thread but my 2 cents
Live in S texas
Had to replace the windshield (had clear tint) due to rock- noticeable difference without it
The shop that wrapped my car didn’t want to do the roof- claimed the heat gun they use to shape the tint might crack the glass
Xpel here in SA...
Feel the same way; I was surprised when they told me my R1T horn was normal. Probably selected so as not to interfere with some goose migration or something
