  1. First long trip with my R1T Seattle to Napa Valley

I've done this the other way and have to agree. There are chargers everywhere on this route now. I had way over thought the trip beforehand and found myself surprised just how easy it was. Anytime I needed one there was on on the map. RAN charger in Mt Shasta is nice for the mexican restaurant...
  2. Anyone Still Using RAN?

Yeah sure do. I use public charging so rarely that I genuinely don't care about the price that much because we are talking a literal handful of times a year. So, I'll go to where is reliable and works well. RAN stations worked great on a roadtrip to Oregon from the Bay area. No complaints honestly.
  3. Out of Spec 10% Challenge of Gen2 R1T dual Max: Massively Negative!

I love all the deep dive technical analysis and break downs of the parts. At the end of the day though my car works great, drives well, charges fast enough for me even on long 2 day road trips and suits all my needs. Thats wha tis most important to me in the end.
  4. Another one bites the dust: Good bye Rivian, for now...

Yeah honestly I thought it was great. I didn't even regret not having the Max pack. In the end I would've stopped at the same spot for lunch anyways and just had slightly more range when I did. The experience wouldve been exactly the same honestly. I also was going from sea level to a mountain...
  5. Another one bites the dust: Good bye Rivian, for now...

Yeah I agree actually. In my experience once the options were there it made all the sense in the world. The effort is there to keep adding chargers though. So all things in time really.
  6. Another one bites the dust: Good bye Rivian, for now...

I have the r1s large pack with 351 miles of stated range. I drove from my house to Mt. Shasta where teh RAN charger is on a single charge and arrived with around 60 miles of range left. So 255 miles of driving on google maps and 60 miles of range left. This was almost 4 hours of driving too so...
  7. EV infrastructure In Hurricane situation.

I mean you know the hurricane is coming for days. Even on an L1 charger you can essentially fully charge before it gets there. Then if the power is out for a week you can power your homes essential services off your giant car battery for the entire time and you still have range to use. Its...
  8. Worksport LTD Announces Tonneau Cover for Rivian R1T, Including Solar Tonneau Cover

Everyone is always putting solar panels on everything. Its nice, but like everyone says whats the power for? You could charge maybe a few KWh battery that is onboard as well slowly over time as a source of back up power but is that really useful in the end? an extra 6kwh battery and inverter...
  9. On 10/15, Rove opens its first full service charging site in Santa Ana, CA (E. 17th & Lincoln)

Yeah honestly this was my experience driving my R1S from Bay Area to Bend, Or then to Richland, WA recently. There were so many charging options everywhere that I just never thought about it. I found myself passing locations I wanted to stop and charge at just because it was there, but I had no...
  10. On 10/15, Rove opens its first full service charging site in Santa Ana, CA (E. 17th & Lincoln)

This looks to be a great design and has real services there too. I'd love to see more 30-40 charger locations up and down the I-5 route that have some amount of services on site. Just being able to cruise and basically know a charger will be available wherever is how you get mass EV adoption in...
  11. $3,500 Loyalty Discount for Gen 1 Owners toward Gen 2 Large or Max Pack R1

Nice for them to do this for sure. When i do the math though I will still come out owing more in the end overall. Not that this is weird, makes sense of course I dont expect a free car. But, I am genuinely happy with my R1S Large pack right now. The 351 range was genuinely perfect for a road...
  12. First real Road Trip in the R1S

Yeah I thought about would the Max Pack have changed my drive at all in the end. I have to say It wouldn't have at all. I would've still likely stopped as often as I did for bathroom breaks, groceries, lunch etc. In my area I just have access to so many chargers I would drive past them all...
  13. First real Road Trip in the R1S

Been excited about taking the R1S on a real, proper road trip and finally had the chance to do so this past week by driving from The Bay Area to Bend, Oregon and then Richland, WA for a triathlon. I really like see everyones experience on these thing so figured I'd throw mine in here as well...
  14. Rivian Referral Code Program ("Rivian Rewards") Announced

This is cool. I wont't lose sleep over it or get that excited. I use the RAN network maybe a couple times a year at this point and I dont really know anyone in my bubbles that is looking to get a Rivian any time soon. But its low hanging fruit to help out so lets go!
