I'd pay for this even if it's an unofficial app and limited to bluetooth. If Gen 2 isn't getting the wristband I'd like to use my Garmin watch, it goes everywhere with me, including the ocean.
UWB is capable of determining directionality and distance far better than Bluetooth. Some neat magic can be performed with this tech, particularly when you also have gyroscopes and other sensors available.
