My R1S was a purchase, and I paid an additional almost $500 Hawaii state tax, on top of the Illinois state tax that was paid when I purchased the vehicle online from Rivian. Hawaii sales tax is higher than Illinois.
Great for me as well! I had my first mobile service last month for lift gate alignment and a brake line fitting was leaking a little fluid over time. While he was making repairs, he noticed one of the half shaft boots wasn’t fitted correctly, and had me make another service request. I have...
Yes, it is state tax that needs to be paid. Your county DMV doesn't accept taxes to the state, at least in Maui county. I live on Lanai where there is no state tax office, so I had to take a boat trip over to Maui, to visit the tax office. I believe the G26 form is the proof for your county DMV...
Agree, I brought all my paperwork with me to the tax office, and they helped me with the G26 form. I ended paying $482 in additional taxes, I bought my R1S for around $78,000.
I started with a 21 Mach-e, and I’m gonna keep it, unless the wife would like to trade in for an R3 when available. I picked up my R1S in June on Oahu, and it has been great. I do have a couple of issues though, and I’m on the island of Lanai. One was the rear upper lift gate not being aligned...
I used the Lectron adaptor. I found I had to connect the adaptor to the Tesla cable, and wait for the light on the Tesla charger to change to green or blue, I forget which color. For me would take about 10-15 seconds, and I could hear an audiable click when it was ready. Then plug into the Rivian.
I took mine up the Lanai Hale, only about 3,400 ft, and didn’t have to use the brakes all the way down. All purpose mode as well. Handled way better than my p38 Range Rover, and much quieter.
The safety inspection office will want the insurance and registration, so they will note as failed because no registration. The DMV needs the failed safety to issue the registration, then the safety inspection will slap a sticker on it.
Not sure if there is a differance between purchase and lease, but yes, the state tax office filled out the G27 form for me, they calculated the extra taxes to be paid, then stamped the form. Bring the registration pack from Rivian with you to the tax office, they will need some information to...
Congratulations on your new ride! I picked mine up in June, Justin and the team there are great. I found out when i went to the DMV to register and title, that I would need to get a G27 form stamped, and pay extra taxes, almost $500 as well. I am on Lanai, so had to make a trip to the state...
