Neighbors 12/22 had batteries that were dated 9/22. He had no issues or replacements up until he did it last week. His take home Rivian test vehicle is also a 22 and still on the original batteries. 3 years is probably end of life for these batteries and probably why we are seeing what seems...
At least in the R1S, the single tpms module is located on the drivers side in the center of the "C" pillar. I have an extra, but not sure what help that would be. It wasn't the issue in my case.
Small sized spare does not have a TPMS sensor. When mine was fixed, he was in contact with the Rivian TPMS sensor team on his slack network (that is what he called it)... who gave him a procedure to get the sensors to be recognized. No explanation of why it needed to be fixed that way, but it...
I had something similar where my 23 R1S wasn't accepting/ updating to the new different tpms sensors after a wheel change. Got the same message. Neighbor (Rivian test engineer) whom has access to a Rivian service computer was able to input my tpms sensor serial numbers manually, which fixed my...
Totally understandable if you are used to changing batteries yourself. Unfortunately this is the norm with a lot of higher end cars, not just Rivian. If your vehicle uses a BLS sensors to monitor the battery, then it will require calibration of some sort when they are changed.
This is like the same arguments we heard 3+ years ago before the launch of the R1. Turned out to be a nothing burger for most people. Rivian didn't change it back then and won't change it this time... so a decision has to be made whether you can live with it. I drive both ICE and EV on a...
Well... all my other cars never had a frunk... and every manual lift gate I've ever had has come down on my head in cold weather.. so their is that... I have a brand new explorer as my take home work vehicle and not having an automatic lift gate for the hatch is a major pita when I have my...
I'm lazy... did any of the vehicles on display have the screen for the rear seats on the back of the center console? The te,st vehicle I got to ride in yesterday did not. It also did not have 12v power at the back of the console like the R1. Only USB-C connectors I saw were on the back of...
If you are like me... when the oportunity comes up where you need a flashlight and you can't find one, you turn to your phone. About 30 minutes later, you will remember the torch in the door.
Tell me about it... Huge moving pano roof in my F150 decided to abort the lifting tracks, because it was stuck in place from non use. Dealer wants $4500 to replace the complete track system. $150 in parts from an aftermarket supplier and a few good youtube videos and I was thankfully back in...
Those are kinda weird at first. I had a chance to ride in an R2 yesterday and I could see them functioning as objects and parts of the road went from illuminated to dark as we drove along. I will probably get used to it, but it did add a slight distraction as we drove a long. It seemed like a...
He did pull the fireman's switch, which I believe is required. His already had the "replace 12V battery" message , which cannot be cleared without connecting to a Rivian Service computer. I'm not sure if you will get a 12v battery warning light (OTC) if you replace the 12V batteries before you...
Up until yesterday I had never seen an R2 in person... but got a chance when my neighbor brought home a test vehicle yesterday. I went straight to the frunk and was surprised how easy it was to operate. It opens the same as our R1 with small button under the lightbar. It has the gas operated...
Just helped my neighbor replace his 9/22 OEM rivian batteries in the driveway. Took about 30-45 minutes, but can confirm he needed to plug in his work computer to clear the OTC error code. He had the same "replace battery" warning light as Mark. We talked about the Ohmmu batteries and even as...
