I've done that twice now (two yellow R1Ts), adding a stop in Dallas each time before heading west. Terrific trip! Give trucks some distance to avoid rock chips.
Being in California, I bought a front plate decal -- which is reflective and looks identical to the metal license plate (you take a picture and send it in). I used a company in Canada, but there are a few options out there. I plan to do the same for my Texas plate, and I do not care if the state...
It isn’t white on top. The dash wood (only) is replaced with the off white pleather, no reflections noticed yet, and the door wood is replaced with a dark gray fabric. I keep forgetting to check the coat hooks in back. Probably plastic like all these days are.
I traded to Rivian. The offer was good.
Taking the hit now was just moving up something I figured I would do eventually. Cancelling the yellow but letting just a few slip through right at the end with Max Pack and Performance… well, that accelerated my schedule.
Blargh. I know they’re doing it because of supply chain availability issues, but I wish they’d work harder to find replacements… I used that under-dash outlet constantly. I have things I’d like to do with the frunk one too.
Blargh!
I did a matte wrap on my first one, which was amazing (light colors really are best for that -- they GLOW) -- but I think I'll go with a glossy wrap this time.
Previous (quad) in matte XPEL wrap:
Just some quick notes on my first impressions for 13k VIN Quad -> 28k VIN Performance Dual. I'll make a dedicated post once I've got more to write about it.
The dual motors are more audibly present than the quad ones. Sounds like there's just more sound transmission as the motors ramp...
I was worried about it (would have chosen wood like my first one had if it had been available) but my partner was excited about the white.
Turns out I needn’t have worried — I love it. Well done and classy.
