This is similar to where I've landed as well. I'm a single car household and had a Tesla Model3 for a year and 11,000 miles as an experiment of sorts into how an EV would work for me. What I learned is that an EV is certainly doable, but the Tesla supercharger network was a huge part of...
Yeah, I'm not mad about the delays themselves, those happen with any major new product launch and with the pandemic it was more than expected. I placed my order over 2 years ago and while I think it's still impressive what they're doing/have done, the novelty has long since worn off and now I...
Denver here as well. Aug 2019 Reservation for an R1S LE (no off road pack). My e-mail said my new delivery date was June - July 2022. I truly don't care anymore, I'm not going to cancel my pre-order but I have lost all interest in the vehicle and company at this point.
Same for me. I've quit following anything Rivian related on any regular basis. The truck will arrive when it arrives but at this point any enthusiasm and interest I had in the company has really waned due to their poor communication.
August 2019 for me.
I was over that way Sunday and did a drive by. Obviously being a Sunday on a holiday weekend there was no activity, from the outside you really can't tell much but hopefully they're making good progress.
Doesn't the S still have the wiper controls on a stalk to the left of the steering column? While I do think the auto sensing feature on my Model3 was worse than most cars I've owned (IIRC Tesla decided to use the cameras to regulate wiping frequency instead of a true sensor), the biggest...
Have they said (or perhaps @DuckTruck or someone who attended the event will know) how the wipers will be controlled? As a former Tesla owner I hated the controls being in the screen, especially since the rain sensing feature was basically useless and all changes to wiper speed required...
I've been wondering about this as well. Given the logistics that go into these I would have to think that if they are really happening in September they know the dates, times, etc.
I know there's still 6 weeks before the end of September but as you mention several of us would travel to these...
Thanks for the update, I've been meaning to make my way by there again but haven't yet. At this pace it seems reasonable that it will be the end of the year at best before they would be in a position to open and start deliveries here.
