  1. RivianTrackr: "Stop Buying EVs for the Trip You Take Twice a Year"

As usual, the very wise words of the subject line will fall on deaf ears. I know I am wasting my time posting, but I am choosing the unwise path. Windmill tilting comment: Someone mentioned 200 mile range and 100 kW charging as being sufficient. That almost describes our longest range vehicle...
  2. R2 front side marker RIVIAN badge just tape?

Reminds me of “JDM” style lights on a Honda.
  3. Just picked up R1S and crack in windshield

Since I went to a Rivian Service center I had to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed. I probably saw/heard about 4-5 rock impact that I thought were going to be stars. The final one was a large star and was directly in my eyeline. I had it repaired but the sun kept glinting and annoying me.
  4. Safelite Windshield Gap

Had my windshield replaced by Rivian recently. There is a gap on the top and sides. Later today I can check our other Rivian that still has its original windshield.
  5. Just picked up R1S and crack in windshield

Might as well go to Rivian. You will have to go there for calibration if a separate shop installs the glass. One less hassle. That is what I did recently.
  6. The Rivian EPA Range Story: Why the R2’s 330-Mile Rating May Be Setting the Wrong Expectations

Most people who use Rivian Trackr are probably driving longer distances-at highway speeds. Probably because they need to track it. Keep in mind that giving a specific EPA rating is almost the same as generalization/stereotyping.
  7. The Rivian EPA Range Story: Why the R2’s 330-Mile Rating May Be Setting the Wrong Expectations

So, the EPA range is closer to how most people actually drive their vehicles instead of the one or two road trips per year. Seems like they should have separate city and highway ranges.
  8. OTA 2026.23 Update - draft release notes

@3wisemonkeyz It works when the HVAC was turned off using the power button on the screen. I have noticed that when preconditioning was used it resets and this method doesn’t work.
  9. OTA 2026.23 Update - draft release notes

I avoid this by turning on the HVAC by touching any vent that was on previously. Works 100% of the time as long as I don’t miss.
  10. Range Difference amongst the three R1S Models

The above is true for our Max Pack Dual. The opposite for our Large Pack Quad.
  11. Range Difference amongst the three R1S Models

We have a Large pack R1T Quad motor with AT tires and a Max pack R1S Dual motor with AS tires. On the one road trip with both vehicles and the Quad in conserve the experience was almost identical. The R1T has better aero but the R1S has more efficient tires. The Large pack charged slightly...
  12. 21" Inch Coming down to the wire.... tire replacement

The recommendation on the label in the door jamb since they are the same size.
  13. What technique do you use to charge 2 EVs

The answer really depends on your house. Parking spots, electrical panel, ease of installation, etc. If you have a breaker panel with extra capacity that is close to the parking places I would install the two highest capacity EVSE’s I could. Otherwise, install one and plan on taking turns...
  14. Rivian won't charge over 60kw at high speed chargers

I read you reset it twice. I am posting to make sure you do the “vehicle restart” using the hazard button. The software restart only using the steering wheel buttons likely won’t help with charging problems.
  15. R2 10-80% charge test (by State Of Charge)

How about an “800”v vs “400”v real world comparison with a very efficient RWD fast charging sedan vs an inefficient slow charging AWD pickup? Same 640 miles in one day trip in very similar conditions mostly on Hwy 101 SoCal to far north NorCal. Keep in mind Hwy 101 is windy and has lower speed...
