  1. 21" Inch Coming down to the wire.... tire replacement

The recommendation on the label in the door jamb since they are the same size.
  2. What technique do you use to charge 2 EVs

The answer really depends on your house. Parking spots, electrical panel, ease of installation, etc. If you have a breaker panel with extra capacity that is close to the parking places I would install the two highest capacity EVSE’s I could. Otherwise, install one and plan on taking turns...
  3. Rivian won't charge over 60kw at high speed chargers

I read you reset it twice. I am posting to make sure you do the “vehicle restart” using the hazard button. The software restart only using the steering wheel buttons likely won’t help with charging problems.
  4. R2 10-80% charge test (by State Of Charge)

How about an “800”v vs “400”v real world comparison with a very efficient RWD fast charging sedan vs an inefficient slow charging AWD pickup? Same 640 miles in one day trip in very similar conditions mostly on Hwy 101 SoCal to far north NorCal. Keep in mind Hwy 101 is windy and has lower speed...
  5. 21" Inch Coming down to the wire.... tire replacement

1,000 miles and so far I like the 21” Hankooks. Too soon to know how the efficiency will be. Early evidence leans towards similar or better efficiency than the OEM tires when new and better efficiency once the tread depth matches new OEM tires. The Hankooks have 1/32” more tread depth than the...
  6. 1st Tow - Battery Severely Overheated

I had something similar once but not towing. Charged up in Baker, CA on a really hot day. Battery temp was high. Pulled out of the parking lot and turtle mode. Battery temp was red. We let it sit for a few minutes and haven’t had a problem since (more than 10,000 miles since then). I’ve also had...
  7. Hankook Ion HT 21” tires

I like the 21” handbooks on the R1S. More of a thump over expansion joints where the OEM 21” tires sounded like a drum. Also, the Hankooks bulge out more and will protect the wheel better. Mine are too new for efficiency data. Keep in mind old tires have much lower rolling resistance than...
  8. Which R2 colors look best when dirty?

This is so accurate. It looks good (great if you like the color like me) when dirty and only looks a little better when clean.
  9. New Tesla Model Y L launching this weekend [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO ELON TALK]

@r2fb Thank you for the information. Hopefully the new part is the one going in next week for me. And hopefully it will last longer than the first version till the lease is up.
  10. New Tesla Model Y L launching this weekend [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO ELON TALK]

For anyone considering a Hyundai or Kia, search ICCU. So glad our Ioniq is only a lease.
  11. Rivian AEB failure and crash

I assume AEB didn’t activate based on your memory (human and therefore flawed). Also, AEB activates at 7mph. Not sure what speed you were at. And… “hard acceleration” in an AEB situation can override AEB. Does comma have the ability to accelerate the Rivian?
  12. Back in an R1T after a few years away...

Thanks for sharing your stories! Makes me sad hearing these stories since I am planning on selling my Quad T in a few months. Don’t need two Rivian’s anymore and I can’t convince my wife to sell her Dual S and drive the T. I will probably be back in a T in 4 years once I stop paying for kid’s...
  13. The Auto Drive feature is not working on my 2024 R1S Gen 1

@crags I have to turn the privacy setting off then back on every couple days to get Driver+ back.
  14. The Auto Drive feature is not working on my 2024 R1S Gen 1

Previously reported multiple times. Data and Privacy settings need to be cycled off and on while in Park. I have to keep doing it often.
  15. New owner - Rivian work order language, not making me comfortable

Hyundai is holding $230 currently on my credit card for a diagnostic fee in case my kid’s EV getting stuck in neutral is not a warranty issue. Also, they will have it 5 days before they can look it. The lowest common denominators of the world causes all of us to suffer.
  16. Wire Harness found behind hitch cap

For use when the 12 volt battery/batteries are dead.
  17. R2 Jack Point Design - Potential Issues / Challenges

I like the Mercedes and BMW jack points. However this looks slippery and too big in one dimension to fit most floor jacks. If it is replaceable, like some German cars, maybe someone will come up with a better design.
  18. 20" Inch Switching tire brand and size with full size spare tire

My plan if our R1S with OEM 21” had an unrepairable flat was to use the OEM 20” AT spare in my R1T temporarily. Seems like 34” diameter is closer to the 33” tires on it than the OEM 30” diameter temporary spare. Only difference is that it has a TPMS sensor and I’m not sure if the temporary...
  19. Compact Spare Tire for R2 priced at $755

The last two used 15+ year old cars I purchased had the original spares in them. Small, non expanding spare tires were $200+ 5 years ago for a lightweight vehicle to replace (which I did do).
  20. RIVIAN ASSISTANT SOFTWARE UPDA

@CoachTy6 It includes “European swallow” in the response
