OEM jack is good for normal emergency where you can find a level hard surface in my opinion. I have a Jack puck and I ordered a 3T scissor jack recommend by OP in another thread. I plan on adding some angle iron to the base to increase the stability.
Hint: Tekton sells one way torque wrenches...
@Mark_AZR1T Will the 3T scissor jack lift it high enough and be stable enough to change a tire? I’m thinking weld a steel plate on the foot of the jack and that’s all I would need (with a JackPuck of course).
We have a Gen 1 R1S dual and a Gen 1 R1T quad on 20” OEM AT’s. I’m not sure if it is the lower CG, wheelbase, motor configuration or suspension decisions by Rivian, but the R1T is much more fun to drive. It seems to settle and be ready to drive out of corners better. Both are driven in All...
I had a similar sound. I brought it to the service center for the sound and a leaking front left CV boot. They replaced the half shaft and also installed ting washers on all four corners. The noise went away.
Even better… we have a Gen 1 R1T and R1S! However, since a kid went off to college 2000+ miles away in a place unpractical to park a car and doesn’t want to drive a large vehicle when home, we will sell the R1T next month. We will keep her small car and then… I can get a sports car! (and keep...
So… it seems like the big advantages (plus combining one of these with a vehicle with a charge port in front):
1. Great aerodynamics
2. Regen on hills means more efficiency on hilly roads
3. Can use the trailer battery to extend range
4. Being able to pull in and plug in tow vehicle, disconnect...
A dual motor with open diffs or a quad motor… redneck mechanic here thinks the tools are built into the vehicle with the right software. (Just kidding)
I wonder if the software limits the following distance if winter tires are selected since braking distances increase in low friction conditions. (SoCal owner, so no winter tire swap here) I’d try to choose a non winter tire on the menu (in non slippery conditions) and see if the following...
IMHO the optimized option for Cd/headroom is currently what the R1 series has. Steel roofs usually lose quite a bit of headroom to headliner thickness so one has to have a higher roof, worse Cd, larger frontal area, etc. to have the same headroom.
Glass roofs are very efficient for manufacturers. Making only a glass roof on a model of a vehicle allows a less tall vehicle for the same headroom = less weight (probably), better aerodynamics, lower Cg (probably) plus less painted surface for finish flaws. Maybe someday an engineering YouTuber...
After update 2025.26 our dual motor is back to the way it was for the first 20,000 miles. So glad, it is much better now. For reference I had it in for service for something else and they recalibrated it a month ago with zero improvement. Edit: Gen 1
I think most ECOflow in pass through mode will allow 1800w even if you set a lower charging limit. So, you may have to charge up the battery to a higher state of charge than your “backup reserve” limit, then run the high draw items and then move your “backup reserve” limit higher to charge up...
