  1. Random quick cruise control chevrons appear

Aimet mentioned it's happening on a straight section of road so it shouldn't be coming on at all. Probably bad data which is why I suggested reporting it.
  2. Random quick cruise control chevrons appear

I only have this happen on curves so it sounds like bad data in the Rivian road database. I suggest sending a report to Rivian as I don't think you can turn of that feature other than to accelerate manually and hold the speed you want.
  3. RivianTrackr: "Stop Buying EVs for the Trip You Take Twice a Year"

My first EV is a 2016 Leaf and it was bought cheap as a third car that could be used around town by my teenage daughter. Perfect for that scenario where it will never be more than 50 miles from home. You are spot on that an EV with less range is a good option for multi-car households.
  4. RivianTrackr: "Stop Buying EVs for the Trip You Take Twice a Year"

I literally gave up my last ICE vehicle because I would rather fly and rent a car than be in a vehicle for that long. To each their own until we have a transit system like Europe or Japan (spent two weeks there in May and never touched a car) so we don't have to rely on personal vehicles. I...
  5. Why I’m leaving the Rivian Family After Owning / Leasing 3 R1Ts

Understood but is there a setup with a wide enough tire that could distribute the weight is my question. The issue is not purely weight it is about flotation on the sand and having the bead locks to be able to drop the pressure enough to keep the tires on the rims. I don't have sand where I live...
  6. Why I’m leaving the Rivian Family After Owning / Leasing 3 R1Ts

I am an avid watcher of the Matt's Offroad Recovery channel and he drives an 11,500 pound truck in loose sand with bead locks and <10 psi tires. I agree with the OP that Rivian probably oversold the soft sand capabilities but I still wonder how much of that is dependent on the wheel setup. It...
  7. Cost for 12v battery replacement nowadays

I installed the Ohmmu Sodium batteries and have not had any warnings pop up in the last three weeks. Vampire drain has also decreased.
  8. Mercedes vs Tesla Supercharging (which should I pick?)

Looking at the site on Plugshare, the MB station has both NACS and CCS cables. The Tesla chargers are V3 units that are very prone to derating as has been explained by many on this thread. Go for the MB chargers and you will be much happier with the faster, more reliable charge speeds from the...
  9. Mercedes vs Tesla Supercharging (which should I pick?)

I agree it is annoying to not have tables. I just turn it into a picnic on the tailgate of my adventure vehicle. ;)
  10. Little Lies

Thank you for responding. There is a thread going on the 12v issues where many people are seeing increased battery loss after the last update. https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/12-volt-demons-caught-up-with-the-count.59795/post-1039989 I am starting to think that the variability in...
  11. Little Lies

Was gear guard on? I am assuming it was not because you said minimal interaction. What were the ambient temperatures? How old are the 12v batteries. I am asking these questions because I am starting to see a pattern across multiple posts on this forum where people see increased HV battery...
  12. Mercedes vs Tesla Supercharging (which should I pick?)

Yes. Better hardware and more reliable cable cooling which means they don't derate like the Tesla V3 units. I had a V3 unit at Buc-ees derate to 110 KW last night and my battery was only at 35%. Luckily I only needed to charge to 50% to make it home.
  13. Mercedes vs Tesla Supercharging (which should I pick?)

If the Tesla Supercharger is the v4 there will be little difference. If Tesla station is V3 ( shorter cables and units) they are more prone to derating and the charge time will often be much longer than your R2 predicts. I have had great charging sessions on the MB chargers at Buc-ees in Texas
  14. 12 Volt Demons Caught Up With The Count

Thank you for posting. I am now starting to think there is an issue with the latest software update and how it monitors battery health. I replaced my batteries with the Ohmmu Sodium Ion upgrade and if my warning came back now I would be losing my mind.
  15. 12 Volt Demons Caught Up With The Count

Final update: Went to charge this morning at a nearby Ionna Rechargery. The truck started pre-conditioning normally when I left my house and the battery was at optimal temp 8 minutes later when I reached the charger. I plugged in, plug-n-charge worked perfectly and it followed the typical...
