Just did a couple of days of back to back 8 hour days driving the Rivian and was so appreciative for the driver assist features - both on highway and secondary roads (did about 1/2 & 1/2 on the drives).
I did realize, however, just how many “new” circumstances one encounters when driving - and...
Thanks for the feedback: I did look for a setting to adjust - glad to know I'm not crazy.
Hopefully its on the nice to have / easy to change in the future.
This is a weird one and it’s happened a few times - wondering if anyone else experienced / is there a setting I’m missing? Some other cars I’ve had specifically allow you to set connection priorities.
We start to get in my 2025 R1S and the Rivian switches driver to my wife. I’m setup as owner...
Periodically I’ve noticed this issue, (prior to most recent update). Largely appears to me to be after waking the car in my garage - but other than that, no rhyme or reason
Own sports car + R1Ss … two totally different animals. R1S will best my sports car off the line (by a little)… first corner and it’s game over.
I take the R1S when it’s raining, need to haul something or need to sit inside with a/c on waiting for the kids. Choose the sports car every chance I get.
I do the same - often swapping wheels between trips if it’s going to be a while before we head back into the snow. Feels odd to put the better tread up front (historically have put the better tread in back). Take me 45-60min taking my time.
I do use a batt torque wrench + a wheel dolley
Yup: can’t get alignment locally due to probs with needing to reset something in the software - I replaced front set of tires on both Rivians @ 10ish thousand miles and got them (Rivian) to at least comp the alignment.
Still miss my RR buttons on the steering wheel - they were tactile and touch capacitance; functions would change depending on different conditions.
One spot that would work well is the back of the steering wheel. The Jeep Grand Cherokee had buttons on the back (15? Years ago) for entertainment...
And, often: a whiz bang demo to impress fails to prove necessary in the real world. One auto writer said it best “door handles did not need a redesign”.
TBH, I’m not going to pay as just not good enough where I generally drive (many single lane mtn rds.) Happy to have acc + lane assist for long drives.
I do see commuters using this a lot and know of many T drivers that like their version to get them home after some cocktails. Neither really my...
