Dang! What a shame. If you have rivians ear, this is definitely a feature many of us dual motors will want. I know that Kyle from Out of Spec has mentioned it in his videos and even directly to Rivian Engineers.

Hi @Rivian Roamer , any chance you know if there will be a "shortcut" to switch drive modes on Dual Motors? Really hoping this gets added since the drive modes get changed back to All Purpose automatically after a few hours. Would love a quick way to swap back to my preferred mode and setting!

Upcoming software update 2025.10 looks to be fixing this issue! From the notes: "Faster level 2 charging in freezing temps" I don't think this was explicitly called out in prior updates like it is now. I know this issue won't affect most people now that it's spring but it's a welcomed fix...

It's a known bug that was introduced in the early January SW update.

Not sure if it was just lip service but SC told me that this was being addressed during the next SW update after I submitted a ticket for the same thing.

Just updated and tried it out and it didn't seem to fix it.

Has anyone tested to see if this was fixed with the latest 2024.51.31 Hotfix?

@Sojhinn - sorry for the clarifying question - do you anticipate that Gen 2 chargers will eventually be able to have a step down module like Gen 1 or is that not possible with the NFC reader? I really love that for gen 1 install it hid all the wires and that you didn't need to use up any USB...

Data point for folks thinking of canceling/re-ordering. I placed an order for a R1S dual motor max pack on 12/31 through the shop and had a delivery for 1/31. After the incentives dropped I reached out to my guide to see if they could apply the discount despite placing the order before the cut...

@Seano are these still working well with your gen 2? Picking up my R1S in a few weeks and was hoping they'd come out with a gen 2 version but might just pick up the gen 1 version at this point.

Ah that's a bummer! I'm one of those sickos that has and android AND doesn't like cases. I was planning on ordering as soon as they became available but will hold off for now. Would be cool if you were able to include/sell an adhesive "ridge" for folks in a similar boat.

Question from a new owner. How does this work with androids? I know apple has magsafe so that holds it place with this mat. Without the ridge from Gen2 and magsafe, how do androids stay in place while driving?
