  1. Home Wall Charger

People posting in this thread who have not read the thread and saying things that have already been covered earlier in the thread does not make anything better. In all cases, both the EVSE and car state their individual maximums, and agree on the highest possible.
  2. Moving R1T a tiny amount to hook up trailer

Powerbrake it, which can be useful with ICE too. The rock and snow modes also soften the accelerator action a lot.
  3. Regenerative braking explained for “dummies”, me

Motors are generators. Stop applying power, but keep it spinning, and it generates. Just that simple. Electricity becomes physical inertial energy. Physical inertial energy becomes electricity.
  4. Does the Apple Music app have SharePlay?

Pretty sure it varies based on frequency or number of plays. Since I play Apple Music often on my HomePods and while working, I think I keep it "clean" from the occasional different material. I'm also pretty sure that my listening habits are often like a 16 year old girl. Recently learned...
  5. What to do when key card takes forever to unlock R1T?

This happens on my gen 1 if I walk around the back, but not if I walk around the front. Never happens in front, but about 30% if I walk to the back. If I want to open/use the tailgate, I have to put the phone on the bed rail, or leave a door open. So stupid.
  6. Does the Apple Music app have SharePlay?

I don't think playing someone else's music would do any of that, only your all-time plays. My wife's eclectic stuff has never shown up again after she plays it.
  7. Does the Apple Music app have SharePlay?

So they'd share FROM their phone TO your Rivian? Interesting, wonder if that could work. My algorithm can't possibly be made weirder than what I already do to it. I'm just as likely to play Taylor Swift and Britney as I am to play Korn and System of a Down and Sleep Token. And I'd never want...
  8. Does the Apple Music app have SharePlay?

Who and why would you shareplay what's in your car? I used it once so the wife and I could listen to the same thing on a motorcycle ride.
  9. Starlink for Overlanding Connectivity

Standby went to $10 a month or two ago and it’s 500 Mbps rated though we normally see 600-700. Limited video, fine for many other uses.
  10. What to do when key card takes forever to unlock R1T?

Nothing is a universal experience in a Rivian. Another reason why I recommend against them unless you need/want a truck that is an EV and has good off-road ability. Otherwise, Tesla is my first choice and recommendation.
  11. What to do when key card takes forever to unlock R1T?

So your fob, the app on the phone, and maybe app on a watch ALL fail? I mean yeah, that's how everything would have to work; the indication of unlock would come after you unlock...
  12. What to do when key card takes forever to unlock R1T?

Oh, it's also VERY important to separate the second gen, UWB unlock, from the first-gen Bluetooth systems. UWB is vastly more advanced, reliable, faster, and uses less power. Also UWB is able to do a touchless unlock with the Apple Watch. Gen 1 requires you to press the button in the app...
  13. What to do when key card takes forever to unlock R1T?

Most modern key fobs have two modes; touchless unlock, and pushbutton unlock. I have NEVER had a delay on the button. I don't actually recall if there's any delay with the touchless. I almost never use it, just the phone and Watch.
  14. What to do when key card takes forever to unlock R1T?

Once again, Rivian is so damn random, and you never know what you will get from one vehicle to another. I use my Watch regularly for the frunk, doors, and tailgate. It's 100% within three seconds, usually one second. (When I'm next to it, cellular takes 3-5 seconds, expected and fine.) I...
  15. What to do when key card takes forever to unlock R1T?

There are multiple ways to assure INSTANT entry into the car before you arrive at it. Even a perfectly-functioning card is NOT the way to achieve safety. If you really think there's a safety issue, why wouldn't you use the faster methods that don't require you doing what criminals would want...
