It is a real data point. Draw the conclusion you will. There are always asterisks. Proximity to service center. The random rivian allocation roulette wheel. Who knows? But reserved on June 16 invited to order Aug 18, estimated delivery 4-8 weeks. YMMV
I said i would report back when the invite came. I placed a new reservation on June 16 and today, exactly 9 weeks later, I was invited to order a launch edition. So I think we can call it. The original reservation backlog is now done (at least for the launch edition). It took a few weeks longer...
I was hoping they would at least update the ADAS to RAP1. Pretty un-compelling to me. I think R1 is going to struggle. OTOH probably good for resale since there is no difference between this one and our 2025.

I just did a 1,200 mile trip from Houston to NW Arkansas (up Sunday back Wed) in my R1T and kept meticulous data logs to feed into my Claude model. What you are saying here creates a surprising artifact when comparing vehicles when modeled on this specific trip vs actuals:

There is no way you would get anything close to 180 miles. If you are at 20F windy and 80 mph (10 mph headwind = 90 mph) you will get in the very best case 150 miles of total range and 125 miles usable.
Agree and 75 mph is kind of slow. The speed limit from Houston to Dallas is 75 mpg and traffic flow is 80-85. Speed limit on I-10 west of San Antonio is 80 mph and 85+ is the norm.
Rivian has a bigger problem IMO: we keep comparing this to a model y performance but the OOS data says that it has...
Never going to happen. You have a net >4,000 ft cumulative elevation gain. If it was flat, good weather, no wind, perfectly located charger, new battery you could pull it off with a 40 minute charge and stopping at a 10% SOC. A 30 minute stop and a 10-15 minute stop will get you there.
Personally, my wife and I are more concerned about range having owned six EVs we are absolutely done with mediocre range, slow charging vehicles. But we do road trips often enough that it is a real PITA.
If it does not matter to you, totally fair, but what you have written here is not...
