I've often said that disputing EV myths and bullshit is a full time job. But the same has to be said about the pro-Tesla propaganda too
Fixed your typo
It is a little difficult to track. There are three most obvious examples of lying robotaxi (and FSD) videos
The "Paint It Black" Promotional Video
October 2016
Autonomy Day Demonstration
April 2019
Cybercab Reveal at Warner Bros. Studios
October 2024
When it comes to staged and faked...
Wow this is all pretty confusing. But I think I've got it. Bear with me while I paraphrase:
1) Elon Musk and Tesla set up fake viral videos to show they had a functioning robo-taxi and have lied repeatedly about it.
2) Some youtube guy I had never heard of until today named Mark Rober (what...
That is pretty funny, had not heard about this. So to summarize:
Elon Musk and Tesla set up a fake viral video to show they had a functioning robo-taxi and then this guy set up a fake viral video to show the Teslas would collide without LiDAR?
The liar lied about the other liar who was lying...
I am not very optimistic that we're going to get something like the shenxing level charging capability on 800 volt anytime soon much less moving to a BYD1000 volt system! But a combination of 400 KW which the current systems are capable of and ongoing improvements in flattening the charging...
Everyone knows how to do this now. It is just a question of which incremental trade you make. More jellybean gives you and extra 8% or so, stiffer tires buys you ~7% (BMW), less frontal area always wins in real world highway where the derate is very real!
IMO incremental efficiency is no longer...
Model y would have done better on Efficiency not range. Matt really dislikes the iX3. The only mediocre review I've found but most definitely not a fan. Bjorn loves range and charging but not a fan of rear seat space.
I know RIGHT? I mean that is a deal killer for me. Why are reviewers not talking about this - other than the obvious reason that they are more interested in getting free boondoggles to Spain than telling like it is.
Ugh the charging speed on a 400V Supercharger is awful. It peaks at 120kw (around a 45 minute 10-80). It is awesome on 800V but on the majority 400V systems you are much quicker in an R2. iX3 does not have the same architectural limit. It will do 10-80 in ~30 minutes on a V3.
iX5 should be widely available sooner than iX3. Production start is due for August-September 2026 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. So we will not be depending on our smallish allocation from Debrecen until the Mexico plant opens for the iX3 next year. It is a very interesting vehicle IMO. However...
