SLATE EV Truck / SUV Info & News

I probably skipped over it, but how are these going to fare in a major accident? I'm way too bougie to drive around in something with absolutely no creature comforts, the same way I wouldn't be caught dead in that little Kia van type SUV with the squirrels driving. Is this little truck going to stand up in an accident against the 8000 - 1000# Cybertrucks, Hummers and R1T's driving around? Will something like this be safe enough to risk my child's life in? Hmmm....

Your kid doesn't need creature comforts. After all, you walked to school in the snow uphill, both ways.

Not sure how much this means for Slate trucks to actually get to buyer's hands, but their website is now open for pre-orders. The Slate is certainly not a Rivian competitor, at least not for the R1 truck series, but does compete in the low-cost segment and could be trouble for the legacy automakers. Ford says they are working on an affordable electric pickup, and others will surely follow suit but being first out of the gate (assuming delivery actually happens) could confer a significant advantage.
