Yeah, these are cool. Scout is doing it too…I’d option one on R2 if available, for sure! But there’s no way it’s happening anytime soon.

Cool it does have potential security issues like any soft top. It is likely to admit more ro road noise. I prefer a solid metal roof myself.
BTW the MINI Cooper Convertible.has a sun roof. Its top rides on frame that deploys from the rear. It is pleated so the top can remain open to the sky. The trip computer can display the percentage of time that the sun roof is open.

You are so right, Daoss, but I am willing to put up with a little more noise to have that open air experience. Hopefully, if Rivian ever does this, they will use smart material that would not be too easy to violate. But I totally agree with the issues you have raised. The Mini Cooper is cool, nut definitely not as spectrally cool as the R2.

I really like Renault. I wish they’d sell them here again or even make them in the US. And no I’m not talking about rebadged Nissans. I want their EVs! I like their retro modern styling. Leave it to the French.
