What?? You’d have to be 5 feet tall if that’s the case. Weird? That’s one of the biggest benefits of owning a pickup truck and hauling stuff. Especially for job-site work.

I took my rear view mirror off because it has live camera view on screen all the time which can see way more than a rear view mirror. Do wish the camera was on the roof instead of tailgate but that’s only been an issue the few times I’ve hauled large stuff with the tailgate down. Still have side mirrors, which is no different than if you are towing in any car and can’t see anything with the rear view mirror.

I can put regular roof racks on if I wanted to. My friend has them and they’re quite useful. I just haven’t needed them.

No issue with body panels here or any other Cybertruck owners I know. There was a recall for the cantrails on the early ones but I’ve seen similar recalls with several vehicles with parts coming loose.

The only real issue Cybertrucks have had in large numbers is PCS failure (which just happened to me weekend before last), and I’ve always criticized Tesla’s camera based auto wipers, but that’s not a Cybertruck specific thing though.

Hate the looks all you want but it actually is a very good truck for truck stuff.

If Rivian had a longer bed I probably would have considered R1T. I hope Rivian’s steer by wire patent makes it into vehicles by the time R3X is available.
You can retort all you want to justify your purchase, however I’m not convinced that it’s practical.

Kneel mode helps.

That’s fine as long as you understand you’re basing it on not actually using it and just what you see on the internet 🙂

I’m 5’9”. Unless there is a tool box or the truck is a low rider, no I cannot reach anything from the side of a pickup. I just climb up on the tailgate to get stuff out of the bed of any truck. Seems like a weird non issue to me.

Even a Maverick would be hard to reach things in the middle for someone shorter than me. Example:
Rivian R1T R1S Self driving update: Gen 2 and Gen 3 Autonomy on R2 should be similar for a "couple of years" IMG_6175

Fair enough
I back into my garage and am unable to open the tailgate. I’m 6’5” and can easily reach into the bed from the side.
So, I’ll revise my statement. The CT is not practical for MY use cases

The reason auto wipers suck so badly on Tesla (and always will) is they rely on the cameras, which can only see out a 6" square at the top center of the windshield. 90% of the windshield can be covered in water droplets but if the top center is clear, the system thinks it's clear and won't run the wipers when you need them. Also if the camera sees a dirt spot that it thinks is a raindrop, it will run the wipers even if there is nothing on the rest of the windshield.

All to save a couple bucks on a real rain sensor.
Oh, I know, we owned one for a few years (dumped it early off a lease), I was very engaged in the community, talked with a few 3rd party app devs quite a bit, plus I have 3+ decades in the tech industry that included a notable amount of time in the AR/CV/ML space (so I'm reasonably hip to the autonomy equation [so to speak]).

Anywhoo, yeah, $2 rain sensor solves the problem, that wasn't a problem to begin with.

Ours was a '21 around the time it was a crapshoot if you'd get data ports (vs. just charging), a passenger lumbar support, and then soon after they started removing things like USS (and some owners started carping about "HERP DERP VISION IS JUST AS GOOD", it's not, but cool, save another $10 :D

Every time I want to park my Cybertruck in a tight place I wish I had some USS because the 3D rendering view is DEFINITELY not anywhere near as accurate for distance. It will show me as touching something when I still have a foot of space.

The shareholder fans love this because everyone tiny bit they squeeze out is more profit and that matters more than having a good product as long as sales don’t drop significantly (they have dropped for the past couple years but that doesn’t matter because robots)

I really want to know what the feature complete roadmap is for R1 gen2. specifically.

Like, what is the point they will step back and say, "this is a finished product"?

when they don't want to develop it anymore. There are too few r1 vehicles for it to matter

Nah, there has to be a roadmap defined by the hardware capabilities. Until they disclose that, I won't drop 2500 on it, and IMHO, no one else should either.
There's no point. The people mostly paying for A+ will be new car buyers, who the most of them will get the new RAP1 computer

There's no need to put out a roadmap if you don't have to
