Not my experience, vins come based on what is going to the delivery location and seemed to be assigned after final inspection off the line. It’s possible the R2 vins may be closer to assigned off the line because it is a new line. The dates I was referring to were the dates they received their VIN numbers, not the dates they took delivery.
I thought, and could be wrong, that people received their VINs when the vehicle was nearing completion at the factory. This is why I took the dates/times they received their VINs and assumed that they are being produced in sequence. However, I would definitely not assume that they are delivered in sequence.
On a side note, I picked my R1S up at the factory.
