The dates I was referring to were the dates they received their VIN numbers, not the dates they took delivery.

I thought, and could be wrong, that people received their VINs when the vehicle was nearing completion at the factory. This is why I took the dates/times they received their VINs and assumed that they are being produced in sequence. However, I would definitely not assume that they are delivered in sequence.

Not my experience, vins come based on what is going to the delivery location and seemed to be assigned after final inspection off the line. It’s possible the R2 vins may be closer to assigned off the line because it is a new line.

On a side note, I picked my R1S up at the factory.

I noticed per the tracker you now have a VIN and an estimated delivery date. Did you just get those today? I ordered the exact same spec as you and on the same date as you, and I haven't heard anything yet. Wondering if it's because CA is being prioritized and Las Vegas is just some poor bastard child.

Well, I'm wondering if Rivian is delivering one at a time, or if they are waiting for more orders to come from the same service center area so they can ship more than one vehicle at a time to a location. If it's the second one, you may have to wait for me and any other Vegas residents to order... I'm still waiting on an invite.

Interesting... two non-Rivian owners with reservation dates of Dec 2025 and Apr 2026 have already received order invitations, while I'm a Day 1 reservation holder from March 7, 2024 and still haven't been invited to order. Based in Northern California and less than 15 miles away from a service center and demo space.

Makes me wonder how much weight reservation timestamp actually carries in the allocation process.

Last time I looked, there were way more 2024 reservation folks getting invites, with very few 2026 reservation folks. On this website's list of reservations turned orders.

I also wonder about folks who made more than one reservation. Does getting an order invite make it less likely they get a fast invite for the second reservation?

It almost seems like they are slow rolling the deliveries waiting for the software update.

I was in Canton MA June 15th, they had 1 R2 for test drives, had 4 others in stock but not scheduled for delivery when I was there. The guy I talked to did not know why they were not yet being delivered. I never thought to look at the vin numbers of those 4, the 4th one is behind the Catalina Cove, next to the Launch Green.

I am pleasantly surprised by how many orders are in the tracker given that way less than 1000 orders will have been made (going off VINs and expected production at this stage) which means a good double digit response rate. That means statistically it should be reasonably accurate.

I want to see more VINs so we can get an idea of weekly production.

Well, the two reference points I have to work with are from @Hodags who mentioned they received VIN 1134 on 6/10 in the evening and @donguanella who received VIN 1627 this morning. So that's 493 vehicles in 11.5 days for an average of roughly 43 produced per day assuming the factory runs 7 days a week including any holidays.

Yes, it looks like they were around that production level last week. You can see that they had a lot of orders made on the 16th/17th last week and then not much really since then. I wonder if that will continue to be the pattern? If so, we can expect to see a big batch tomorrow and Wednesday. At that production level they are not going to get it done but it is still very early days. Would be nice to see them hit somewhere over VIN 3000 - 4000 delivered by the end of July. Only 5 months left after that to hit their 20k - 25k guidance.

No expiring lease. Horrible reservation date of 4/19/26. But today is my 60th and I’m praying for a birthday email miracle.

They expect the first shift to have hit max production (which is roughly 4000 a month since each full shift can make around 50-55k a year) by November/December so the 20-25k guidance is very weighted to the backend of the year. Q3 will be interesting.

Or based on the route/destinations of the delivery transport carrier. This is probably a nice allocation model in operations research.

Just dropped off my R1T at the Minneapolis service center for the 45,000 mile comprehensive inspection. Drove around the lot and saw our R2 with VIN 1588 sitting on the lot. I have not received word on a pickup date yet. There were at least two others with lower VINs there as well.

Delivery hold for a design or manufacturing issue? I assume you asked someone there about it?
