The wait is finally over! With Rivian R2 order emails officially rolling out, demo drives hitting the streets, and the first wave of reviews absolutely crushing it, the excitement in the Rivian community is at an all-time high.

But as you picture taking delivery of your beautiful, new R2, there’s one stomach-churning moment every owner in a front-plate state dreads: watching the delivery specialist pull out a drill to mount the factory front license plate bracket directly into your pristine bumper.

You don't have to let them do it.

We designed the SnapPlate for Rivian R2 to solve this exact problem. It is the ultimate completely toolless, no-drill front license plate mount engineered specifically for the R2’s unique design.

Why the Factory Mount Falls Short
The factory front plate solution requires screwing self-tapping fasteners directly into the plastic of your front bumper. Not only does this permanently alter and damage your vehicle's clean front-end aesthetic, but it can also negatively impact your resale value down the road.

If you live in a state that strictly enforces front plates, or if you frequently travel through areas that do, you need a solution that looks factory-installed without the permanent destruction.

Enter SnapPlate for Rivian R2
The SnapPlate is engineered from the ground up to respect the clean lines and advanced tech of the Rivian R2. Here is why it’s the best alternative on the market:

  • 100% No-Drill, Zero Damage: The SnapPlate installs and removes in seconds by utilizing the R2's lower grille structure. No drills, no tape, no bumper contact, and absolutely no permanent modifications to your vehicle.
  • Sensor and Camera Friendly: The standard front camera view stays completely unobstructed no matter how you run the SnapPlate, so the view you rely on most while driving is always clear. The only place a front plate can show up is the 360-degree (top-down) camera view. Mounted in the high position, the SnapPlate sits cleanest against the fascia and appears in the 360 view to a degree comparable to the factory bracket. Drop it to the center or lower position and it clears the 360 view as well. You decide where to land on that spectrum between the most integrated look and the cleanest top-down image, and because the mount comes off in seconds, you can always remove it entirely whenever you want.

If the camera view is a top priority, consider the automatic carwash-safe tow hook mount. It still shows to the side on the camera, but much less.
  • Quick-Release Convenience: Want to take your R2 through a touchless car wash, head out for a professional photoshoot, or clean the front grille? The SnapPlate can be unlatched and removed in seconds, leaving your front bumper looking completely stock.
  • Rugged, Eco-Conscious Durability: In true Rivian spirit, we manufacture our mounts using high-strength, UV-resistant, and weather-proof recycled plastics. It’s built to withstand highway speeds, freezing winters, and blistering summer heat without fading or warping.
  • Built-in Theft Deterrence: While it’s easy for you to remove, the SnapPlate includes security features to ensure it stays exactly where it belongs when your vehicle is parked in public.

  • Sensor and Camera Friendly: The R2 is packed with advanced driver-assist sensors, radar, and cameras. The factory plate mount obscures ~25% of the image, as of 6/9/2026. SnapPlates in the high position obscure less, but the view is similar. The center and low positions have a better camera view, but worse aesthetics. This may or may not change with future software updates. If the camera view is a top priority, consider a tow hook mount. It still shows to the side on the camera, but much less.
We're happy to report that Rivian has already pushed a software update to correct the bumper camera view.

The standard front camera view stays completely unobstructed no matter how you run the SnapPlate, so the view you rely on most while driving is always clear.
