Received an email that my R2 Cargo Cover order is delayed.

According to the email, it will not impact the rest of my R2 order. I would hope that a Cargo Cover is not holding up my car being delivered.

Curious if anyone actually received the Cargo Cover yet, or if its still in production and yet to ship. Probably the same situation with the Crossbars.

For the R1, accessories like this are drop shipped separately from the car. They can even arrive before you pick up the car, and are at times delayed significantly because of supply availability.

I don't know about R2 yet, but I think it's safe to assume they're doing it the same way.

It's not going to delay your R2 delivery, because it wasn't going to be in your car at delivery. Same holds for all weather floor mats, wall charger, adapters, crossbars, and other things that are available in the gear shop.

I got the same email about 90 min regarding the Cargo Cover. I have some other accessories I added, but no email on those.

I took delivery on the 30th, my cargo cover is scheduled to be delivered (UPS) Monday.

I'm going to give them another week before I ask about the hardware to mount the spare tire, I was told they would bring everything and install via mobile service.

I had my spare tire installed at the service center when I stopped in for a different issue. They are shipping them there and then figuring out which customers to give them to. I bet if you're loud about it, you'll get it sooner.

No updates yet. I pickup my R2 this Friday barring an unforeseen delays and will provide an update then. I haven't gotten any word if it will be available at delivery or ship post delivery.

I'm waiting for details on the cargo cover, crossbars and compact spare which were all the items on my purchase order. Everything else I decided to order directly from the gear shop.

I took mine out, it wouldn't stay closed if I had the rear window open when driving. Makes it pretty useless if I have to keep going back there to reset it after a drive.

That sucks to hear. I just want it for when parked to cover items I may have in trunk. My delivery is tomorrow barring any delay and I have not ordered one yet but want one. I hope stock comes soon.

I've had the official cargo covers for many vehicles but I find that I prefer just keeping one or two of those heavy black moving blankets in the car. I can leave it spread out to protect the cargo area and put stuff on top of it, spread it on top of cargo to hide it, wrap it around or use it as padding between pieces of fragile cargo, or just fold it up and stick it somewhere out of the way.

It's also amazing how much throwing a moving blanket over stuff (e.g. bags of groceries) keeps it from sliding around, which is something a cargo cover doesn't help with at all and is so much easier than messing with fancy cargo tie downs, nets, etc.

I've been wondering if that's one of the reasons they don't seem to be stocking them. R2 crossbars also don't seem to exist. I ended up requesting a refund on mine and they agreed to it, but it has to be a check since it was part of my vehicle order.

Well it seems Rivian have thought of you there, since it seems there are no installed anchor points for any of that "fluffery" :D

On a more serious note, I wonder if there are bolts under all the lining in the rear area where one might be able to install some anchor loops for tie downs? I'm not super keen on driving around with a loaded cooler (or anything else that is heavy and potential mobile in an accident) not being strapped down back there.
