It’s here! It’s here! 🐐🤣

Roamer = 100,000 real-world R2 miles, which means the moment absolutely nobody was waiting for has finally arrived: The GOAT of R2 Threads.

~100,000 miles. 115 R2s. 5+ million R1 comparison miles. A pile of range tests. And somehow, even more questions than when we started.

But I think we can finally settle at least one thing:

The R2 range debate is over. It’s ~250 miles. Why? It’s actually pretty simple, long-term average efficiency might improve slightly, say 2.9 or even 3.0 MPK, even if so that only brings it up 5-10 miles…statistically, the dataset is becoming useful not merely because of its mean, but because we’re observing the empirical distribution and its upper tail.
The absence of any >260 mile drives in an increasingly large fleet is evidence that they are not representative outcomes under normal sustained interstate use. While certainly possible, no one so far has felt like driving <60 mph for >260 minutes. OOS came close making it 253 miles using all 100%.

Now let’s argue about everything else. 😂👇

AI disclaimer: AI helped me organize the data, check the math, fit the curves, and make the pretty pictures. It did not invent the underlying data. The observations come from Roamer, published tests, community drives, and other publicly available R2 results. As always, keep the data, question the analysis, and check your maths.

250, what's the condition? Temperature, road conditions and altitude make a difference.

Oh I'm sorry, did AI say so?
