Why limit yourself to ATs? If they are fun time tires. These are 35x10.5 fyi

Take a look at my comments above. I did consider the crazy MT and RT tires but after some additional research they perform very poor on wet and sand, which is primarily where I’ll be when using these.

Yes they look awesome and that’s why I was originally attracted to them. I was so close to getting some R/T tires.

These do great in sand - but yes on wet hard surfaces they aren’t great.

Update:

Got these chunky bois mounted yesterday at Discount/America's Tire near me.

Haven't gone above 65mph yet but no wheel shake. Surprisingly quiet. Happy so far. Will drive it for a week or so on pavement before hitting the sand dunes.

In Sport/Lowest mode. I wouldn't drive like this haha. I can imagine hitting a bump at speed and ripping off that fender.

And All Purpose/Standard height which is what I normally use.

I run the Yokohama Geolandar A/T, other than a curb decimating a sidewall, they run really nice.

The best LOOKING set ive seen on an R1 were Mickey Thompson, not sure how they perform though.

I'm looking to replace a very worn set of BF Goodrich K02s with something fun. I only mount these when I'm going off road so they aren't used often and frankly may last the remaining time I own the vehicle. 99% other times I'm on my factory 22" wheels with Michelin Defenders.

I do NOT do aggressive rock crawling but I will do some pretty rocky trails, normal fire roads, maybe some water crossings/small bits of mud (if I can find any in SoCal), and sand. In the next few weeks I might hit the Pismo sand dunes.

That being said, I'd prefer something "fun" and very rugged and visually aggressive. I don't care about efficiency or noise THAT much but I would rather not use something like a mud specific tire which is crazy loud and heavy. Do I need something crazy? Nope, but I want it and that's okay .

I posted this in a Rivan FB group and got some suggestions so I'll include them here. Also looking for more suggestions and photos if you have them. I'll be mounting these on my Ram 2363 20" wheels.

• BF Goodrich K03s - I like the K02s and heard the K03 is even better. But I'm open to trying something more interesting because, why not?
• Goodyear Duatrac - Someone suggested these and it looks nice.
• Nitto Ridge Grappler - Pretty popular here with the 22" wheel it seems. AI says this is really the best all around for me in terms of driveability, all terrain, and aggressive looks.
• Mickey Thompson Baja Boss - I don't know anything about this but it looks pretty aggressive.
• Toyo Open Country R/T - Until a few days ago I only knew about the A/T which I wasn't a fan of. R/T seems interesting to me.
• Cooper STT Pro - Another suggestion but these appear to be much more MT focused so probably not for me.
• Yokohama Geolander G003 - Same thing. MT focused and will likely be worse for me in sand. There's no real mud anywhere near me.

What do you guys recommend? Also open to hearing what size I should go with (stock or slightly wider?) When the sizing gets to "35" and all that, I'm confused what I should use.

Used a white paint pen on my K02s for fun. So bonus points if the tire I get has a white raised lettering option haha.

It has been maybe 1,000 miles since I had my Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/Ts on and they did a wonderful job on the sand dunes.

This past weekend, I swapped back to my OEM 22s.

This isn't a review on them, but just an observation on how much of a diameter difference the OEM 22" is vs. a 20" wheel w/OEM tire sizes if anyone is curious.

They are significantly heavier too. My efficiency averaged ~1.7 to 1.9mi/kwh. With my 22" road wheels/tires I'm routinely at 2.3+. This is with Defender MS/2.
