On my second tonneau cover issue (won't open more than 4 in), I took an appointment this afternoon for service. Earliest date is May 20th !

And btw this is in the Laval service center (when did it open?). Nothing available on Ferrier (they're closing it).

This means we cannot carry our bikes until after that date. Wifey is not happy. Neither am I.

To reset a Rivian R1T powered tonneau cover, press the bed rail button three times quickly, then press and hold it until the cover moves. The cover will run a full open/close cycle to recalibrate. If it fails, perform a full vehicle sleep (unplugged, 30 min) or perform a soft reset.

I'm not sure about the quality of the service since I haven't been in to Laval yet, but it does seem like the availbility of appointments isn't as good as it was. I need brakes and the soonest available was almost a month out. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come as R2 rolls out.

I'm in Vermont on the boarder and have been going up to Montreal for service because it is much closer than Boston. For the last few years I've found the folks at Ferrier St. to be very helpful and appointments were easy to get. Overall my experiences with them have been head and shoulders above the crappy service I got in Boston both for delivery and the two times I had to go in for service.

Just a followup.

As I was trying to take a video of the issue to send to the service center, the problem corrected itself. Looks like that first slat had to work hard to get through.

BTW my first tonneau cover issue was solved with a recalibration (as explained by @captainjp ).

I guess that second issue, along of course with the near impossibility to use it in the winter (being frozen) is convincing me to go with a manual (hard) tonneau cover on my next vehicle.

In response to @pwarn yes the service was quite quick and good at Ferrier. I hope the current schedule is being due to the transition of the service center to Laval, although I have not received any communication about this.
