Hi Everyone,

We are excited to introduce our first products engineered specifically for Rivian owners: the Symphonic Carbon Fiber Roof.

Symphonic Carbon Fiber Roof 2.webp

Please see the description of our Symphonic Carbon Fiber Roof on our website:
https://www.evsmarttruck.com/

Our Symphonic Carbon Fiber Roof is a game changer for your Rivian experience, combining strength, safety, weight reduction, acoustic performance, comfort, and premium U.S. manufacturing.

1. Strength
Our Symphonic Carbon Fiber Roof is dramatically more resistant to impact and vibration than the OEM glass roof.

2. Safety
Unlike glass, carbon fiber will not crack or shatter upon impact.

3. Weight and Fit
The Symphonic Carbon Fiber Roof is approximately 22 lbs lighter than the OEM glass roof, weighing only about 9.25 lbs. Its length, width, and thickness are identical to the OEM glass roof, ensuring a precise fit.

4. Acoustics — A Day-and-Night Difference
The acoustic improvement with our Symphonic Carbon Fiber Roof is substantial. Unlike the OEM glass roof, which allows sound energy to dissipate, our carbon fiber roof is engineered with a newly developed acoustic foam core that helps sound waves reverberate more naturally within the cabin.
The result is a dramatically improved listening experience, with music that feels richer, more balanced, and more precise across both bass and treble. Compared with the OEM glass roof, the difference in musical quality is immediately noticeable.
For Rivian owners who care about sound, the Symphonic Carbon Fiber Roof delivers a true audiophile-level cabin experience.
In addition, road noise is reduced, with the improvement especially noticeable at higher speeds.

5. Energy Efficiency and Comfort
Our Symphonic Carbon Fiber Roof provides a much better thermal barrier than the OEM glass roof. Its newly developed foam core helps reduce HVAC demand in both hot and cold conditions, improving cabin comfort and efficiency.

6. Ease of Installation
The roof installs the same way as the OEM glass roof, while being easier to handle because of its lower weight and increased strength.

7. Made in the USA
Our carbon fiber roof is proudly made in the USA in Jacksonville, Florida, by Hairy Glass :

We offer two versions of the Symphonic Carbon Fiber Roof. Please contact us with any questions — we would be happy to answer your inquiries and help you choose the best option for your Rivian.

For those still in warranty, it's there any concern of push back from Rivian? Like, are there any concerns about crash safety changing?

If this was available a couple years ago when my glass broke might have considered it but being pricier than the glass maybe not.

Depends on what you are attempting to get warranty coverage for. Anything involving your decision to go aftermarket… you already know the answer. Flip the script. If you had a business, would you accept responsibility for things/acts your business had nothing to do with?

Thank y'all for making a cool product for the Rivian community! Plenty of us have bookmarked this for the day we need it. Be patient, and forgiving of the initial responses. I love seeing a Florida based company on here!

generally speaking, glass does not serve as a structural element or contribute to crash safety (outside of being laminated, etc to protect from the hazards posed by the glass itself, eg large shards of broken glass).

Cool! Because of the price I expect most people to wait until their glass breaks, but be patient. Of not, I went to your website and could not swipe the top panels right or left to view them. For instance, the video panel is half off-screen and I cannot adjust that. I am on an iPad with Safari browser.

I assume it blocks visible light?
I wondered this too when, in the video, they say: "And yes, you can continue to use your existing sunshades and roofliners just like before." Why would you need or want to?

Yeah, in a rollover I'll take carbon fiber between me and the road over glass anyday!

Presumably the CF is just layers of CF which does not have a particularly high insulation value. A sunshade or roof liner could provide an additional level of thermal insulation.

Are there any pics showing what it looks line on the inside? How difficult is installation?
