Hi Everyone -

I haven't seen these particular tires mentioned anywhere so I wanted to share my results with them.

The other day I swapped my four 20" AT stock tires for a set of Transforce HT2 LT275 65 R20. I found these on the big spreadsheet and they looked like a good match.

So far I'm very happy with them. The improvement in both road noise and ride feel is huge. The ATs are so stiff around corners and are so noisy on the highway. These are so much nicer to drive.

I have not gone far enough to notice a change in range yet, though I'm hoping they'll help a fair bit.

I believe these match diameters to the ATs. Got them for $306 each at Discount Tire.

Anyway - thumbs up from me in case anyone else is looking for a 20" swap and searches for them!

Should also mention I have two of the 20" ATs left over with 8/32 tread remaining if anyone is interested in them. They were too good to throw out but I didn't want ATs anymore so they're in my barn for now.

I am looking at these tires as well. Any updates now that you’ve had them for a bit. How is your efficiency compared to the OE AT’s?

We'll be awaiting your efficiency numbers, including your OEM tire efficiency numbers for comparison, and will thumbs up your 1k mile efficiency update.

I don't have great before/after data but here is what I have.

I have 1,750 miles on this set and my efficiency is 2.11 mi/kWh. This is basically all all-purpose mode.

All-time I have 15,600 miles at 1.98 mi/kWh. Again this basically all all-purpose and it includes the 1,750 miles on this set.

Note that my all-time numbers include winter miles whereas these tires have not seen a winter yet.

I'm very happy with them. The handling and ride feel alone were well worth the swap.

Any updates or additional R1 owners running these tires with some feedback to share? These look like a good option as I get ready to swap out my factory Pirellis - Discount Tire rates them 4/5 on their EV range “gauge” but no idea whether that’s based on real world testing or just manufacturer estimate.

Per info on rivianroamer factory efficiency for the stock AT is 2.17. So the 2.11 observed number for these AS is slightly worse. Likely due to weight, being a LT.

That’s a solid find. I actually made a similar switch a while back because those stock ATs were just way too jarring on my daily commute, and the highway hum was driving me crazy. The HT2s definitely smooth everything out, and you’ll likely see a nice little bump in your efficiency once the computer recalibrates to the lower rolling resistance. $306 isn't bad at all for a 20-inch LT tire either, especially given how much more refined the truck feels without that constant vibration through the steering wheel.

I wouldn’t get too excited. The HT2 and AT2 are OEM tires on Ram 2500/3500 trucks and they have a reputation for wearing out fast and being an all around below average tire.
