That was my initial concern with the old soft. Lots of jostling at low speed maneuvers and stopping. Felt like it took an unnecessary nose dive on the normal regen braking. Wasn’t sure if it was me coming from a sport sedan or not as well.
I just sold my R1S pre price hike with tax credit this month. Part of me still misses it, but it wasn't the right time for me to upgrade. I think with some tasteful updates in a refresh (subwoofer!, 800V charging??), I'd consider getting back in. That or a significantly discounted current gen...
I just literally found out (realized) that my driver side seatbelt hinge has the wrong freaking part in...smh. A month out to even get it in to the shop. See driver side vs passenger
120v/20 amp (NEMA 5-20) to 14-50. This is a standard 20 amp household outlet, but you'll charge 50% faster than using the standard 15 amp plug that comes with the mobile charger.
For this particularly setup (NEMA 5-20) can I just plug the stock Rivian NEMA 14-50 into this adapter and just...
I just switched from the R1T max pack 2024 estimate  to an R1S (pre-March pricing). No idea when mine will be (hoping for mid '23). FWIW, when I was briefly switched to the R1T large, I have an Nov-Dec '22 delivery. Pre-order date around fall '21.
More to stop the battery drain while sitting in the cold and to heat up under charge rather than pure battery. But yeah not really expecting to gain any real mileage from it, if any at all.
Sorry to revive an old thread, but now that some decent time has passed, I'm rethinking my situation. Just got the email yesterday after I had switched from Max to Large pack for end of year estimated delivery. I think I can reliably level 1 charge at work which may be enough to get me through...
If you're close to Novi, I'd love to help you compare both ?. I have an R1T max pack reservation and have been spying a couple driving around recently. Was also considering the Hummer as I love the removable roof option (would easily pay for a Rivian option in the future) but I don't think it'd...
I have been wondering about this. At the alleged "up to 25 miles of charge per hour" range that would take me 8 hours on my longest days. How many amps is that set up to run on? 40 (32)? I saw Chargepoint has a 50 amp charger that can do 11.5+ kw but you lose the sync capability of having a...
Would love to get the 20s, but will wait until we see some real world range results. For those thinking of getting the 21s, would you take it off roading? Do you think they will be fine for occasional trail riding? Or will it likely be a huge penalty? I would probably take it several times a...
That would be the easy answer....however I think I can deal with occasional days/year stopping on the way back for 5-10 minutes to get me home. I imagine most days will be fine as long as the roads are clear in the winter. I will probably just get the 21s to be safe.
Do you guys think given the amount of highway miles I will drive, it is worth the decrease in range for the 20s? That's a worst case reduction of 60 miles, which is no joke.
I think you have a valid point....it seems like Tesla was designed with it's ideal driving environment either in SoCal or somewhere in the SW US. Rivian on the other hand was purposefully tested in all environments. I have to imagine it will not be as bad.
There may be a chance I can try an extension cord and 120V charge during my shift on those long commute days/cold days.
I live near Detroit/Toledo area. There are some DCFCs and looks like plans to increase more(?). I think Rivian plans to install one of their own in the area as well. Overall...
