Mixed groups are becoming the norm on popular trails.
Have you noticed differences in pace, etiquette, or recovery styles when running with ICE trucks?
Whatâs worked well (or not) for your groups?
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to drop a quick note here since a lot of folks have been talking about gear upgrades heading into winter.
Electruck is running its biggest sale of the year through December 1th (at midnight), and it includes a bunch of Rivian-specific gear weâve all been using and...
Space adds up fast, especially on long drives.
Weâve seen folks stash snacks in the armrest, door pockets, or even custom organizers.
Whereâs your go-to spot to keep food handy (without creating a mess)?
Cold weather and EVs donât always mix well.
Do you pre-heat before leaving? Use insulation hacks? Just pack extra layers and minimize climate control?
Weâd love to hear whatâs worked for your R1 in freezing conditions.
Yeah. Depending on the unit, though, you can also get ones that automatically air-down all four tires to the same pressure or balance them all to the same pressure.
We all pack recovery straps, shackles, shovels, etc.
But whatâs that random ânever expected Iâd bring thisâ thing that now lives in your R1?
For us? Bailing wire.
Whatâs yours?
Itâs crazy the number of features trucks have picked up in the last decade.
For us, camp auto-leveling felt like a ânice extraâ at first, but itâs turned into something we use almost every trip.
Whatâs one feature in your Rivian that you didnât think youâd use much, but now canât live without?
Weâve seen a few families making it work, but weâre curious to dig deeper.
What kinds of trips are you taking with kids in your R1T or R1S? Weekend camping? Multi-day overland loops?
What has been your biggest challenge? Range planning, gear space, sleep setup, food?
Weâre always looking to...

Plenty of people arenât interested in a rooftop tent, but they would still like a roof rack for weekend gear (cooler, duffel, awning).
How have you guys been utilizing the additional space up there and how are you tackling mounting and modularity?
T-slots, L-track, molle panels, ratchet straps?
We usually see dogs riding shotgun or stretched out across the rear seats⊠but @Oldsmobile_Mike just set a new bar with this gear tunnel setup. đș
From pups in the back to cats in the cargo, Rivian pets seem to find their own spots.
Where does your four-legged co-pilot ride? Bonus points for...
When we first got our R1T, every trip was inadvertently mapped around Electrify America stations. (We all know how that goesâŠđ§)
We got creative pretty quickly and started integrating RV parks and campsites into our route so we could spend less time on the highway and more time in places we...
That's a good call to keep them out of the way. What kind of stuff and bag are you using, given the smaller space? (We usually opt for under the back seat, but this could be cool if you can cram everything in there).
Weâve seen a range of organization strategies, everything from MOLLE panels to hard cases, totes, and even old tool bags.
What about you? How do you keep your recovery boards, wrenches, and other essentials organized on the trail?
Solid examples of places where the balance between design aesthetic and utility could have used a nudge in the other direction. I see several of these and think of "the cup holder problem". They aren't sleek and sexy, but you rarely hear someone complaining that they have too many.
