That was my plan, because they would not let me pre-pay the whole 36 month lease. Apparently they have a down payment maximum for leases. But even if I could pre-pay the whole lease out of my trade-in proceeds, theyāre still not able to give me the difference back.
Nope, they said theyāre unable to cut a check for the difference. I assumed it would be two separate transactions, they pay me 68K, and I pay them very large down payment on a new lease, but nope. They canāt do it apparently. What youāre buying has to be more than your trade-in, which obviously...
Trying to trade in my fully paid off 13 month old gen1 R1S, which Rivian offered me $68,000 for, I wanted to use $32,000 of this to lease a gen2, expecting to get $36,000 back, only to be told Rivian is unable to pay me the difference. They told me I would have to sell it myself, and suggested...
I tow my Sea-Doo all over California, Nevada, and Arizona. Without the ski I get about 2.3 - 2.5 miles per kilowatt hour on my ā23 quad large, with the Sea-Doo I get about 1.8 to 2.1, depending how fast I drive. Long sections of freeway and even put it in conserve mode which also really helps...
When I put on the off-season tires a few months ago, 5K miles ago at this point, I reset the mileage calculation, and as you can see in the picture below, the range numbers for the different drive modes are right around the same as the 21 inch road wheels/tires.
5K. Miles on the new tires, I know this cause I just rotated them. I called service and they sent a mobile tech out to do the programming. No questions asked. The AT tires are 116 load rating, the ones I installed are a 115 load rating. I looked it up and itās about 70 pounds per tire less.

Iāve been to this charger 4 Timeās towing a trailer since it opened. First time, perfect. Got the trailer spot. Second and third time found the trailer spot iced. Today was my fourth attempt, was not expecting to see a trailerless Rivian in the trailer spot while there was 4 empty normal spots...
Thereās three spots open, 4 when I got here, and nobody in the car to ask for them to move, now Iām partially blocking the entrance to the strip mall with my trailer sticking out
Hereās me all excited to get to the Rivian charger at Barstow, California, towing my trailer, knowing there is a very nice trailer spot to park in and charge, only to find this, single, no trailer R1T parked in it, charging with four other charges open!
Thank you for posting this, great to hear RJ. Talk, so candidly, I really love this guy and what he has achieved in his life and heās still so young. And yes, those two kids are quite amazing.
Got mine back recently from the San Diego service center and found all 6 of the frunk tub mounting bolts loose in the frunk tub. I installed them myself after figuring out where they came from.
