    This makes sense. I think “extended range” mode should still kick in the other wheels if needed. I’d hate to compromise safety for range. Extended range mode should simply prioritize 2WD (Lower the hight, reduce accelerator power curve, etc).

    Are you trying to say that regen breaking is already factored in to the EPA test? Because regen breaking by definition puts energy back into the battery pack that can then be used for range. Obviously you cold go a lot further if you never touched your breaks, because regen breaking doesn’t...

    The cheapest Airstream would be in the low $40ks, the LE R1S is $77k. So your "work for free" would cost them quite a bit for 4 months worth of work.
