Thanks. Iāve just done some research and learned more about why AC charging has these limitations but DC fast charging (AKA Level 3) does not.
Future Rivians might have higher AC power acceptance rates, but that would likely be adopted along with a major revamp to an 800v system and a new...
What is this based on? Does Rivian not allow its vehicles to charge faster on other brands of home chargers? That would seem like the only way that a higher amp charger would not charge a Rivian any faster than the Rivian Wall EVSE. Otherwise more power = faster charging.
Iāve been looking at the ChargePoint Home Flex, because it seems to be the most powerful one on the market, at 50 amps vs 48 for the Rivian & other chargers. According to this website, that translates to charging speed of 36 mph for the ChargePoint vs 25 for the Rivian charger (no idea if this...
Feb 2022 R1T order. Never had any sort of delivery estimate until now, and itās Feb-March 2023.
I tried to configure to prioritize delivery, and wonāt be changing it anymore. I think Iāve gotten a bit lucky due to location (SF Bay Area) and othersā configurations. Sorry to others that arenāt...
I love this because itās what I would do if I had the truck. To take it a step further, Iād like to see someone find a way to store the panels in the bed storage box. Might this be possible by disconnecting the motor and pushing/pulling the panels in/out by hand?
Bingo - ambition is the difference between Rivian and the old Detroit truck makers.
Ambition is the reason Rivian has built the worldās first 4 motor vehicle, with 800hp and all the other amazing things that have earned it Truck of the Year and countless other praise. None of the old companies...
All of the questions about if/how much the tonneau effects range could be easily answered if one of the R1T owners would conduct a back to back test, like theyāve done with the wheels. Any volunteers?
Me too! I also want it to be AWD, and faster & more off road capable than any bike ever. But I do NOT want a powered rear storage cover on mine, or a kitchen. But an extended range battery⦠maybe.

Not sure if this is news, or which vehicle these will be used in.
If Rivian had world class PR skills, many of us would be paying about $15K more for our trucks, or not buying one at all. Iāll take the bad with the good, thanks.
Iāve owned many trucks, none with a tonneau cover. The only reason I selected the powered tonneau here was in hopes of getting a truck (or shop access) sooner. If I had an R1T with powered tonneau Iād leave it open until V2.0 is installed, and then Iād probably treat it the same. Why? Because...
Not likely to compete directly with the R1T, but interesting nonetheless. It looks smaller than the R1T, perhaps Ford Maverick sized. If done right, they could sell a lot of these. IMO small EV pickups will be a huge market in the future...
Or, what if the people making the wheel & emblem decals would make some for the floor mats? Seems worth a try. They could also make them in other colors, which might be even better.
I noticed that the mats in the gear shop show the yellow logos. Considering that the shop has been getting...
Has anyone done the satin PPF wrap on a red Rivian yet? (Sorry if this was already posted, I didnāt search this 21 page thread). I saw a satin red Chevy truck yesterday and it looked surprisingly good.
My son (11) has a strong preference for red on the Rivian. Of course this is likely to...
