Great news! Rivian is now officially supported by Comma AI, and the harness is only $99! Anyone looking to order, you're going to need the Comma 3X, Rivian harness, 8 degree mount, and a 10 foot USB-C extension. I'm not sure if Comma will send you the 8 degree mount or extension with the harness...
Not true, its related specifically to ADAS, as you can see it is doing neutal and image processing. The fact that their volume model (R2 and R3) has a computer several times more powerful than the relatively low volume R1 tells me they're going to encounter exactly what Tesla is with HW3/HW4 in...
Very much agree not to count on future promises. IMO Comma AI works very well as is right now, if it stopped there I'd be happy with the ADAS situation.
Some branches like Sunnypilot do slow for curves. These arent supported on the Rivian yet. Keep in mind if you have access already, you are a development tester.
1) Yes
2) Yes
3) It does know the speed limit but I'm not entirely sure if it's GPS based or reads the signs actually.
4) 20 mph to start using the system but after that it'll go all the way down to 0 and stop/go without a problem.
5) The turning seems to be very capable in the Rivian. See my...
Rivian severely burned their gen 1 customers with false autonomy promises. I'm hopeful they will catch up to at least companies like Comma in terms of capability, although I have my doubts. They can put up or shut up as far as Im concerned. I paid $90000 for an 2023 Rivian R1S that was promised...
Correct, like smart cruise control it does not stop for lights or stop signs. That function is in development for the Comma platform in general and does work in some vehicles, so may be available with an update.
Comma 3X - $1000
8 Degree Mount + Extension Cable - $30
Development contribution + harness - $1000
When its in larger production the harness will probably be more like $200-300.
There are no subscription fees etc.
Yes right now its in development so just available be contacting Lukas via...
Another driving video of the Comma 3X in action! Working great at dusk doing lane selection, stop/go with traffic and maintaining lanes through some light curves on secondary roads. Let me know if people want more of these videos
Bonus video of an semi-automatic lane change - just hit the...
Good explanation. Tesla has said they are nowhere near the processing limits of their HW4 computer yet though, so I think we have a while for that. Rivian might be closer if they also start adding inputs from additional sensors and radars thst have to be simultaneously processed along with video...
I understand the hesitation, but the technology does work. I took 3 Waymo rides on my last trip to Phoenix. All flawless, not even any awkward moves or anything.
