Not defending EA, but I did recently charge up at their station in Allentown PA. It was my first and only time so far charging somewhere other than home. Arrived at the station with 10% SOC and batteries warm and ready for charging (highway driving plus the charge was in the nav). It wasn't -6...
Exactly this! I'm actually shocked that the Rivian performs SO poorly in lower traction situations on DECEL. Acceleration is fantastic! But deceleration can be downright scary. Have experienced the tires locking up on slick road during a fresh drizzle. Obviously the regen should have known to...
I'm right there with you, I don't understand these really high mile/kwh ratings. I'm also 1.75 but only at 1000 miles so far. I chalk most of it up to colder temps and the batteries needing to condition themselves? The couple times that is has been over 55 degrees here I've seen the 15 min...
Ford would just be one example, at least they are profitable. Rivian admits it will be several years before they are profitable and that they have no intention of being profitable but instead intend to grow. The valuations for most auto companies make sense. Tesla, not so much, but they're at...
I guess I'm glad I'm not the only one who just doesn't see this much value in Rivian yet. I just can't see how they could have a valuation higher than a company like Ford and have barely started producing any vehicles. Sure the potential is there, but the risk is just too high (for me) right...
Yes of course, but considering Pike's Peak is surveyed to be 14,115ft tall, and one of the few mountains where you can actually drive up to that altitude; there is probably an outlet up there at 14,108ft. They're saying hey, you can use that in a Rivian! I found it to be a fun thing that Rivian...
Maximum Operating Altitude for the portable charger of 14,108ft is probably an easter egg in a way and a bit humorous. Feel free to charge up at Pike's Peak...but you won't get much regen on the way down if you fill up ;)
If any limitation due to altitude, I would guess it be related to thermal...
my sarcasm didn't come through. The lack luster communication from Rivian is pretty pathetic...it's sad that you as a Dec 18' order are left with so many questions.
godfodder...how did you spend 1.5 hours on the phone with them with seemingly few answers? If there is a lot you are not allowed...
I called my company months ago, explained I wanted a ballpark figure, got quite a bit of resistance at first as they had no idea what/who Rivian was. Explained some basics like "$90-100k electric truck with 800hp." The R1T is replacing two vehicles for me, it was about 10% more than both those...
Another R1T pre-order here, though I have considered the S several times. Like several of the others here this is sort of a one size fits all vehicle for me. It checks 95% of what I want in a vehicle, and I'm pretty sure 100% is not possible! I wan't an efficient daily driver, that is also fun...
Yes, something like that would be great. While it certainly would be quite variable for different drivers, weight in vehicle, trail conditions, etc. With shared data of energy use on different trails they could at least give you a range and as you start driving the trail be able to update it...
