It does sound like a more reasonable approach, however, you have to remember customer psychology plays a big role in keeping the R2 reservation. Last thing you want is a customer get pissed on a $200 adapter and lose an R2 sale. People wont interpret this from a supply/demand perspective but...
Update on this: on 10/24 I get a text from the SC asking to finalize my last steps so I can get the vehicle by 10/27. Very close, almost to the finish line.
100% agree. Differentiate with power settings, fine. But to not give the compass/height/battery temp etc that is basic telemetry has nothing to do with "Performance". It is still an adventure vehicle.

I dont know at this point you can do much. I got my 8 step notification on 9/27 and did everything but Insurance and Payment, the website told me to do only set of the 8 steps. So not sure who your guide is but you should have been advised not to do the Insurance, Contract and Payment steps...
