Is there a good official way to share SW bug reports? I have a few (haven’t tested in the latest update that just pushed) but one that is particularly annoying (and not quite as well documented as the center console usb-c power issue) is:
* (Gen2 Dual Max with standard audio) occasionally...
my understanding, albeit limited, is that the type of charging does not really matter since the BMS manages the draw and thermals. What’s more important is how long you leave the battery in a highly charged state. E.g. charging to 95% and leaving it at that state of the charge overnight is a...
As many of you may know, the gen2 does away with the cabin fuse box and has implemented software resettable e-fuses. I have a some more info on this that may be helpful.
these e-fuses are only for low voltage systems powered by <= 48V. There is an additional fuse panel for the HV systems...
A few additional items:
gen2 does away with fuses for low voltage electronics. That means no more 12v fuse taps. However it seems that fuses still exist for HV loads including 120v - but unclear where these fuses are located. I may have more insights on this soon.
Net net, doors on the Gen2...
The Teslas there all have magic docks and the MB chargers seem to always have some work being done - but the charge curve on the MB chargers/thermal management is wayyy better.
I saw that there are some fridges designed specifically for the sub trunks in Teslas. I think the subtrunk / spare tire well of the R1s is a perfect place for a fridge (since the spare isnt even full size) and it’s larger than the ones in a Tesla (plus have close access to 12v and ac power)...
Is it a passive sub? And is it dual voice coil? If it’s dual voice coil then you should be able to wire it like this by connecting in parallel like this:

Fwiw, I attempted to mount a HomePod mini but it requires an 18w power source and I think the behind the headrest usb-c tops out at 15w (same with rear infotainment usb-c). I think only the center console can power a HomePod mini.
you tested no signal is passed through? Then my second theory is that the center channel wires can be taken and re-amplified into a dual channel amp set to send two mono channels to the center and sub. Do you know the ohm rating of the stock speakers?
another thought I had is to just mount a...
Wonder if there’s anyone with a total loss gen2 who could run some diagnostics on
This thread might help. https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/teardown-r1s-audio-unit-under-drivers-seat-and-speaker-harness-pinnout
my takeaway is that:
1) if the 2 wire/4pin molex you found is the sub...
